Prevention and control of metabolic syndrome is the key to improving the development of systemic lupus erythematosus. The aim of this study was to analyze the relevant factors regarding metabolic syndrome (MS) in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). ⋯ MS in SLE was closely related to BMI, blood pressure, blood sugar, blood lipids, arthritis, white blood cells, and urea. Targeted prevention and conclusion measures for the risk factors should be taken as early as possible.

To discuss the correlation between hormone levels and cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy (CAN) in menopausal patients with Type-2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). ⋯ The CAN morbidity of menopausal female patients with T2DM is high, and HbA1c and E2 should be mainly monitored to identify and treat CAN early.

The impact of extended antral resection (AR) after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) on clinical results is still not clearly elucidated with conflicting results. Our study aimed to determine whether AR is superior to antral preservation (AP) regarding clinical results. ⋯ Both AR and AP seem to be equally effective in resolution of metabolic response. Although statistically not significant- AR provided more %EWL and %TBWL at the end of 12 months.

To evaluate the Effectiveness of Pre-operative Respiratory Muscle Training versus Conventional Treatment for Improving post-operative pulmonary health after Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery (CABG). ⋯ The results showed that respiratory muscle training results in improved postoperative functional capacity and reduces of hospital stay.

To report here, case series of women developing acute kidney injury (AKI) in association with hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) during pregnancy or within days postpartum. ⋯ AKI with background of Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS) may remain irreversible in many of these young women. Plasmapheresis should be offered to patients with established diagnosis of HUS.
