To compare the serum levels of vitamin D, vitamin D binding protein (VDBP) calcium and phosphate in normal, osteopenic and osteoporotic postmenopausal women categorized on the basis of bone mineral density (BMD) scores. ⋯ Vitamin D and VDBP are linked with bone health and estimation of VDBP appears to be a valuable tool for the assessment of increased bone loss and possible risks of bone fractures especially in postmenopausal women.

To explore the clinical influence of the changes of glycosylated hemoglobin level of patients with diabetes on hypertension and coronary heart disease. ⋯ The level of HbA1c of patients with diabetes was in a positive correlation with blood pressure and level of hs-CRP. The level of HbA1c can effectively predict the occurrence of hypertension and coronary heart disease. Detecting level of glycosylated hemoglobin is of important significance in screening patients with hypertension and coronary heart disease.

Permanent central vein catheter for hemodialysis is a choice for hemodialysis vascular access. Permanent dialysis catheters may be inserted through the jugular, subclavian and femoral veins. ⋯ There may be so many complications for example malposition, hemorrhage and pneumothorax while inserting central venous catheter. Here we present a 44 year old female hemodialysis patient with a malpositioned permanent hemodialysis catheter, catheter tip was found in hepatic vein after three months of insertion.

This study was designed to identify the changing trends in Anti-psychotic prescription pattern in Pakistan. It was part of the research project Research on East Asian Psychotropic Prescription Pattern (REAP) carried out to identify the prescription patterns of schizophrenic patients in different countries located in Asia.Our objective was to assess the trend and change of psychotropic drug prescriptions for patients with schizophrenia. ⋯ It was concluded that antipsychotic poly pharmacy along with Anxiolytics, anti-depressants and Anti-parkinsonian drugs were prescribed to patients with schizophrenia in Pakistan.
