The objective of this study was to determine the diagnostic value of stress perfusion CMR for the detection of coronary artery disease. ⋯ Stress perfusion CMRI can be considered as a first line, relatively safe, noninvasive test with significant accuracy to diagnose coronary artery disease in patients with suspected CAD without subjecting these patients to invasive coronary angiogram.

To observe the clinical efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy combined with laparoscopic surgery in patients with middle and low rectal cancer and its effect on serum VEGF level and quality of life. ⋯ Neoadjuvant chemotherapy combined with laparoscopic surgery is superior to direct surgery alone in the treatment of middle and low rectal cancer and it needs to be promoted.

To investigate the correlations between APACHE-II score and pressure parameters of mechanical ventilation in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and their value in prognostic evaluation. ⋯ APACHE-II score of ARDS patients shows significantly positive correlations with pressure parameters of mechanical ventilation, and has diagnostic value for the prognosis of ARDS patients.

To correlate the results of HER2/neu protein overexpression on immunohistochemistry (IHC) and gene amplification on fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and to document the problems faced in performing FISH procedure. ⋯ Her2/neu amplification was seen in most Her2/neu 3+ cases and approximately one-third of Her2neu 2+ cases. Proper fixation, adequate biopsy material with standardized processing is required to yield useful results on FISH.

This study evaluated and compared the perceptions, awareness, and experiences of telemedicine among university students in Riyadh. ⋯ Most participants perceived that telemedicine could save patients' time and improve access to healthcare. The low agreement, especially of medical students, for the ability of physicians to evaluate clinical features and of patients to communicate illnesses effectively possibly represented suboptimal education of telemedicine in medical curricula. Thus, incorporating telemedicine into medical curricula and improving public awareness might expedite telemedicine implementation.
