Urban-Rural Difference in Treatment Adherence of Chinese Hypertensive Patients.
The aims of this study were to evaluate the treatment adherence and the main factors associated with adherence for Chinese hypertensive patients between urban and rural areas. ⋯ The treatment adherence of Chinese hypertensive patients was low, especially in rural areas. More emphasis should be placed on patients in rural areas. Furthermore, more attention and effective strategies should be designed to address factors affecting treatment adherence in both urban and rural areas. Health programs should focus on education including the importance of taking continuous antihypertensive drugs and low sodium diet.

Illness Beliefs, Treatment Beliefs, and Fulfilled Treatment Expectations in Psychosomatic Rehabilitation: Associations with Patient Satisfaction.
Patients' illness and treatment beliefs have been shown to predict health outcomes in many health care settings. However, information about their impact on patient satisfaction is scarce. The aim of this study was to investigate illness- and rehabilitation-related treatment beliefs and met rehabilitation-related treatment expectations and their relationship with patient satisfaction in psychosomatic rehabilitation. ⋯ This study highlights the relationship of fulfilled (rehabilitation-related) treatment expectations with patient satisfaction in psychosomatic rehabilitation. Given the evidence underlining the importance of patients' illness and treatment beliefs and expectations, it is vital that these constructs are addressed in corresponding interventions.

Medication Adherence Among Hypertensive Patients Attending Different Primary Health Centers in Abha, Saudi Arabia: A Cross-Sectional Study.
Optimal blood pressure control is achieved by medication adherence. This will reduce the risk of associated morbidities and mortalities. The present study aimed to determine medication adherence and its associated factors among hypertensive patients attending different primary health centers (PHC) in Abha, Saudi Arabia (KSA). ⋯ The present study revealed that hypertensive patients poorly adhere to their antihypertensive medications. This low adherence is significantly associated with the age, monthly income, people living in rural areas, and married participants. The present study results recommend sustained efforts to implement health education programs and awareness-raising interventions targeted at hypertensive patients.

Impact of Pharmaceutical Education on Medication Adherence and Its Clinical Efficacy in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes and Systemic Arterial Hypertension.
To evaluate the impact of pharmaceutical education on medication adherence in patients with Type 2 Diabetes and Systemic Arterial Hypertension. ⋯ A high percentage of patients are not achieving optimal control of their diabetes. Medication adherence rates were between 45-50% in patients at the baseline of the study, but after receiving education and support from a pharmacist, the intervened group showed a significant increase in their adherence.

Adherence to Insulin Therapy Among Children with Type 1 Diabetes: Reliability and Validity of the Arabic Version of the 4-Item Morisky Medication Adherence Scale.
Inadequate adherence to insulin is a major concern, necessitating the use of reliable and valid metrics for assessing adherence. Up to date, there are no Arabic validated tools assessing adherence to insulin therapy among children with type 1 diabetes (T1DM). Thus, the aim of this study is to evaluate the psychometric properties of an Arabic version of the four-item Morisky Green Levine Medication Adherence Scale (MGLS-4) as a self-reported measure of adherence to insulin among a cohort of Egyptian children with T1DM. ⋯ The Arabic version of MGLS-4 showed good reliability and validity as a self-administered tool for assessing adherence to insulin in pediatric patients with T1DM.
