Why Does COVID-19 Vaccine Acceptance Rate Remain Low Among Patients with Chronic Diseases? Evidences from Public Hospitals of Ethiopia.
Elders and patients with chronic diseases are more vulnerable to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection. In Ethiopia, these groups of people are given vaccination priorities amongst others. However, there is limited information on the acceptance of COVID-19 vaccine among patients with chronic diseases. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the acceptance of COVID-19 vaccine and associated factors among patients with chronic diseases visiting public hospitals in West Guji zone (Ethiopia). ⋯ The overall proportion of COVID-19 vaccine acceptance is low among patients with chronic diseases. Therefore, to improve the acceptance of COVID-19 vaccine, the government and health professionals should provide continuous health education.

The Effect of Self-Administration of Medication During Hospitalization on Patient's Self-Efficacy and Medication Adherence After Discharge.
The effect of self-administration of medication (SAM), in which capable hospitalized patients administer medication themselves on medication self-efficacy is inconclusive. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of SAM on medication self-efficacy, adherence and patient satisfaction. ⋯ In this orthopedic population with high medication self-efficacy scores at discharge, SAM did not affect patients' medication self-efficacy nor medication adherence after hospitalization. Most patients preferred SAM. Additional studies should focus on the effect of SAM in other patient populations.

Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices of Adult Iraqi Population Towards COVID-19 Booster Dose: A Cross-Sectional Study.
COVID-19 vaccines are critical for containing the pandemic and preventing serious SARS-CoV-2 infections. In addition to the two main doses, a booster dose has been utilized to improve immunity. The aim of current study is to evaluate Iraqi adult population knowledge, attitudes, and practices towards COVID-19 booster dose. ⋯ There is high hesitancy towards COVID-19 booster dose acceptance among the Iraqi population. The study identified several factors associated with vaccine hesitancy including low socioeconomic status and low knowledge about COVID-19 and its vaccines.

Adherence to Clinical Guidelines on STATIN Prescribing Among Diabetic Patients Aged 40-75 Years Old in a Primary Care Setting: A Cross-Sectional Study.
Diabetes mellitus (D.M.) is a chronic metabolic disease caused by decreased insulin secretion, which increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Evidence has shown that statins reduce cardiovascular risk in patients with diabetes; moreover, most clinical guidelines recommend statins. ⋯ Most guidelines recommend statin therapy in diabetic patients owing to its benefits in preventing cardiovascular complications. In this study, most patients were on appropriate STATIN therapy; however, 50% of diabetic patients had LDL of more than 100 mg/dl, and 25% were not prescribed statins, increasing their risk of ASCVD. Therefore, we recommend strict adherence to the established guidelines on statins prescribed to patients with diabetes to prevent cardiovascular complications, save lives, and reduce healthcare costs.

Evaluation of Mobile Application for the Management of Tuberculosis Patients in Tianjin During 2019-2020.
Poor tuberculosis (TB) medication adherence increases the risk of treatment failure and development of drug-resistant TB, while universal implementation of directly observed therapy (DOT) is not feasible in China. EHealth technologies were reported to be promising patient-centered tools for improving adherence. However, only pilot studies have assessed patients' experiences, and the results were discrepant. ⋯ APP could improve TB patients' revisit examination adherence. Medication adherence was poor in tuberculosis pleuritis and retreated patients, while local residents tend to have better medication adherence. To make full use of the mobile application in TB patient management, more incentive measures should be adopted for patients and doctors, respectively.
