Myeloma Patient Value Mapping: A Discrete Choice Experiment on Myeloma Treatment Preferences in the UK.
Myeloma is an incurable life-threatening hematological cancer. Recent treatment developments have seen improvements in survival; however, while patients are living longer, they are living with symptoms and treatment side effects. ⋯ Different treatment features were not valued equally among all myeloma patients. This has important implications for healthcare policy decisions and could be used to guide decisions around the value of new myeloma medicines.

The Healthy Kids Initiative: Results from the First 2000 Participants.
The comprehensive and free Healthy Kids Initiative (HKI) was developed with key features including social support, family support, and cognitive behavior education in order to promote program completion and improve health outcomes among youth. The first objective was to determine program completion rates and independent risk indicators for non-completion. The second objective was to determine the 12-week impact of the Healthy Kids Initiative on aerobic fitness, depressed mood and health-related quality of life. ⋯ The HKI program had high completion rates and early success in improving outcomes. Knowing the independent risk indicators for non-completion will allow for program revision to help at-risk participants complete the program.

Choosing and Using the Progesterone Vaginal Ring: Women's Lived Experiences in Three African Cities.
This study explored experiences of selecting and utilizing a newly introduced contraceptive - the progesterone vaginal ring (PVR) - among women seeking a contraceptive method in 3 African capital cities (Abuja, Nairobi, and Senegal). The study explored women's perceptions of, and lived experiences with, using the new product to better understand their reception of a new contraceptive. This understanding will help inform the design of programs to support women in their adoption and continued use of the PVR and other new contraceptives. ⋯ The PVR is an acceptable contraceptive method to postpartum women in urban African settings. However, prior to its introduction into new country contexts, formative data on women's perceptions of, and reactions to, the product need to inform country preparation processes. Such information would be useful for tailoring counseling around this contraceptive, as well as for product marketing and robust uptake of the method.

Real-World Treatment Patterns of Disease Modifying Therapy (DMT) for Patients with Relapse-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis and Patient Satisfaction with Therapy: Results of the Non-Interventional SKARLET Study in Slovakia.
During long-term multiple sclerosis therapy, patient satisfaction with received treatment has considerable impact on treatment outcomes. Here we report the results of a non-interventional real-world study that mapped the treatment patterns of disease-modifying therapy (DMT) and assessed treatment satisfaction with DMT. ⋯ In the present study, it was confirmed that patients find oral DMTs as most convenient; however, the infusion form of treatment outweighs oral DMTs in global satisfaction and effectiveness. The differences of TSQM 9 scores among DMT dosage forms were significant for convenience and global satisfaction. In conclusion, the results of this detailed survey increase our understanding of RRMS patient population characteristics and patient satisfaction with DMT treatment.
