A qualitative study on the design and development of an mHealth app to facilitate communication with the Deaf community: perspective of community pharmacists.
This study prepares the groundwork on the potential design and development of a mobile health (mHealth) app that will be able to bridge the communication gap between pharmacists and patients who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHoH). ⋯ This study allowed community pharmacists, one of the end-users of the app, to provide feedback on the contents and design of the app, which would allow them to provide pharmaceutical care services to patients who are DHoH, and better serve them. Potential benefits and challenges of the app were also identified. Undoubtedly, through the mHealth app, community pharmacists will be better equipped to serve and communicate with the DHoH, and this will hopefully translate to improved health outcomes in these patients.

The Patient-Reported Experience Measure for Improving qUality of care in Mental health (PREMIUM) project in France: study protocol for the development and implementation strategy.
Measuring the quality and performance of health care is a major challenge in improving the efficiency of a health system. Patient experience is one important measure of the quality of health care, and the use of patient-reported experience measures (PREMs) is recommended. The aims of this project are 1) to develop item banks of PREMs that assess the quality of health care for adult patients with psychiatric disorders (schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depression) and to validate computerized adaptive testing (CAT) to support the routine use of PREMs; and 2) to analyze the implementation and acceptability of the CAT among patients, professionals, and health authorities. ⋯ The development of a set of PREMs on quality of care in mental health that overcomes the limitations of previous works (ie, allowing national comparisons regardless of the characteristics of patients and care and based on modern testing using item banks and CAT) could help health care professionals and health system policymakers to identify strategies to improve the quality and efficiency of mental health care.

Adherence to disease-modifying treatments in patients with multiple sclerosis in Spain.
Adherence to disease-modifying treatments is essential in order to maximize the beneficial effects of treatment for multiple sclerosis (MS). There are numerous treatments that have been approved. Treatment selection is essential in patient adherence. In addition, patient preference plays an increasingly significant role in treatment decision-making. This study aims to evaluate the degree of adherence, along with other variables that may influence this adherence, in Spain. ⋯ The adherence rate is acceptable. It is widely known that treatment satisfaction is related to adherence. In our study, patients' level of satisfaction was higher with oral treatments. However, oral administration showed a greater lack of adherence. The main cause of lack of adherence was forgetfulness. In relation to other variables, cognitive status and family support showed a correlation with treatment adherence.

Time to start and adherence to iron-folate supplement for pregnant women in antenatal care follow up; Northern Ethiopia.
Iron folate supplementation is a cost-effective way of reducing iron deficiency anemia, low birth weight, and neural tube defects in resource-limited countries like Ethiopia. Late to start and poor adherence to iron-folate supplement has restricted its effectiveness. The aim of this study was to determine the time to start and adherence level of iron-folate supplementation to pregnant women attending at the Ayder Comprehensive Specialized Hospital. ⋯ Time to start iron folate supplement in the first trimester was low and the adherence level was also very poor, which can be attributed by the number of antenatal care visits, frequency of pregnancy and healthcare education and counseling about iron folate supplement.
