Children's preferences toward dentist attire in Al Madinah Al Munawarah.
Background and aim: Children make judgments about the dentist on the basis of dentists' attire and talking gestures during dental visits. It is important to focus on dentists' attire as they can adjust their attire according to a child's preference. This study aims to assess the preferences of children regarding dentist attire in Al-Madinah Munawarah. ⋯ Closed-toe shoes were preferred by most of the children (68.8%) and 56.9% of the children preferred the dentist to wear flat shoes. The attitude of dentists towards wearing shoes, jewelry, goggles, watches, badges, and face mask was found to have significant difference at 5% confidence interval; whereas, the children did not prefer traditional outfit worn by the dentists on their visit to the dental clinic. Conclusion: There is a significant impact of dentist attire on the child's acceptance of the dental procedure.

Development and validation of the Patient's Health Belief Questionnaire on Psychiatric Treatment.
Our previous studies with regard to adherence to psychiatric medications measured pharmacophobia, psychological reactance, and locus of control using a 42-item questionnaire requiring ~1.5 hours for completion. This study aims to develop the Patient's Health Belief Questionnaire on Psychiatric Treatment, a 17-item inventory which requires only 15 minutes to complete. ⋯ Future studies need to verify and further extend the preliminary findings of this study that the questionnaire may have construct and predictive validity.

Compliance with care and poor sleep quality among hypertensive adults in a mountainous area of Hubei Province, People's Republic of China.
Little information is available concerning the relationship between compliance with hypertensive care and poor quality of sleep among Chinese adults in rural areas. This study aimed to evaluate the association between the compliance with hypertensive care and sleep quality for hypertension of adults in a mountainous area in People's Republic of China. ⋯ There is a significant association between hypertension compliance and poor sleep quality. Future intervention programs should focus on improving compliance behavior as a modifiable background factor for sleep quality.

The needs of family members of patients admitted to the intensive care unit.
The unanticipated admission of a patient to the intensive care unit (ICU) can be particularly frightening and stressful for their family members. The objective of this study was to identify the most important needs of family members of patients admitted in the ICU and determine their relationship with their sociodemographic characteristics. ⋯ This study has shown that family members of patients admitted to ICU have elevated levels of needs in the assurance, proximity, and information dimensions that require to be addressed. This should guide the development of connection, effective communication, and beneficial cooperation toward offering the best possible care and support to ICU patients and their relatives.
