A 95-year-old woman presented with abdominal bloating and anorexia of one week's duration. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) revealed features in keeping with gastro-gastric intussusception with a lead mass. Oesophagogastroduodenoscopy demonstrated a large 5-cm pedunculated fundal mass intussuscepted into the distal stomach. ⋯ Histological evaluation of the gastric mass revealed a gastrointestinal stromal tumour. Her postoperative course was uneventful. We herein describe the radiological features of adult intussusception and illustrate the usefulness of CT in the detection and characterisation of lead masses.

The increasing popularity of personal mobility devices (PMDs) and electric bicycles (e-bikes) in Singapore has met with growing public concern over safety. Following the passing of the Active Mobility Bill, there remains a gap in the local literature in terms of injury patterns arising from the use of these devices. ⋯ While most injuries associated with PMDs and e-bikes are minor, serious injuries could result from their use. The SNTR should be updated to include PMDs and e-bikes as a category.

Impact of 24-hour specialist coverage and an on-site CT scanner on the timely diagnosis of acute aortic dissection.
Acute aortic dissection (AAD) is a rare and potentially fatal condition that has been known to be missed in diagnoses. Our primary objective was to determine if the availability of 24-hour emergency department (ED) specialist coverage and an on-site computed tomography (CT) scanner reduced the rate of missed diagnoses of AAD. ⋯ The availability of 24-hour ED specialist coverage and an on-site CT scanner improved the diagnosis of AAD in our study.

Parental knowledge and beliefs on the use of child car restraints in Singapore: a qualitative study.
Road traffic injuries and fatalities represent a significant public health problem. In Singapore, compliance with appropriate child car restraints (CCRs) is poor. We aimed to understand parental knowledge, beliefs and barriers regarding the use of CCRs. ⋯ Non-compliance to CCR use is multidimensional, including multiple potentially modifiable factors. This study could inform ongoing collaborative injury prevention efforts among healthcare professionals, industry partners and the traffic police, using public education and outreach to reduce the burden of road traffic injuries.
