Comparative Study
[Autonomic, cardio- and hemodynamic indices of healthy men, representatives of the native and nonnative population of Kazakhstan].
Healthy men, representatives of the indigenous population and newcomers, have some differences on the part of the vegetative and cardiovascular system. The newcomers mostly show coronary atherosclerosis and predominance of the tone of the ergotropic system. The cardio- and hemodynamic differences manifest by more pronounced shifts on making orthostatic and exercise tests, by an appreciable rise of myocardial contractility and energy expenditure for blood translocation.

A study was made of the effect of selective plasmapheresis (SPP) on the concentration of circulating immune complexes (CIC). The method is based on precipitation at 4 degrees C of plasma fibronectin and associated macromolecular complexes by means of heparin. Sterile plasma of the patient is separated from the precipitate, frozen and kept at -20 degrees C till the next plasmapheresis during which it is returned to the patient instead of the donor's one. ⋯ It was established that after the first session of SPP the CIC content sharply declined followed by a gradual increment and exceeded the initial values toward the beginning of the second session. After the second SPP the patients manifested the same tendencies. The CIC content reached a maximum by the third SPP and then fell from session to session.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)

Eighty-six patients with different versions of systemic vasculitis were examined for rheological blood properties and some immunologic characteristics. The relationship between the formation of immune complexes and disorders of rheological characteristics and cell aggregation was established with emphasis on the necessity of correcting these disorders by anticoagulants and deaggregating agents for the treatment of patients with systemic vasculitis to be successful.

Experimental Rauscher's virus erythroleukemia (RVE) was employed to study the immunologic mechanisms by which leukemia develops. Experiments were performed on inbred mice, genetically opposite to the disease induction, namely on highly sensitive BALB/c, resistant C57BL/6 and moderately sensitive BDFI animals. ⋯ The recovery of the ALID with OSCAR suppression and RVE regression is a consequence of the development of strictly specific antiidiotypic immune responses (antibodies AIT-anti-OSCAR). It is demonstrated that both passive administration of AIT-anti-OSCAR and induction of their active synthesis brings about a remission of RVE.
