Pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) of the suprascapular nerve has been shown to be effective in the treatment of chronic shoulder pain. Ultrasound (US) guidance has gained popularity in regional blocks recently. This study aims to investigate the efficacy of suprascapular nerve pulsed radiofrequency under the guidance of ultrasonography. ⋯ The study demonstrated that US-guided suprascapular nerve PRF achieves good pain relief and functional improvement in patients with partial rotator cuff tears for at least 6 months.

This study aimed to evaluate the usefulness of blood gas and end-tidal carbon dioxide (EtCO2) measurements for predicting return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) and for evaluating post-ROSC neurological survival. ⋯ Blood gas parameters and EtCO2 are sufficient in predicting ROSC. The value of AaDCO2 calculated using EtCO2 and PO2may be used in predicting the prognosis of OHCA patients, but this value does not provide any conclusions concerning neurological survival.

Comparison of block and pulsed radiofrequency of the ganglion impar in coccygodynia
Ganglion impar blockis used for the treatment of chronic coccygodynia. Pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) of the ganglion impar is a promising novel technique. The aim of this study was to determine and compare the efficacy of the blockade and PRF of the ganglion impar. ⋯ PRF neuromodulation provides significantly longer pain relief and reduces the risk of recurrence of pain in chronic coccygodynia as compared with blockade of the impar ganglion.

Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is a clinical, biological, and pathological entity that is rare but has certain morbidity that may be life-threatening. This work aims to establish a focus on the hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis and analyze different aspects of diagnosis while emphasizing the biological data. ⋯ HLH is a diverse condition with many causes and is likely to be under-recognized, which contributes to its high morbidity and mortality. Clinicians need to be able to recognize the signs and symptoms commonly seen in HLH and actively pursue this diagnosis in the cases of undiagnosed febrile illness with multiorgan dysfunction. Early recognition is crucial for any reasonable attempt at curative therapy to be made.

While C-reactive protein (CRP) is a well-studied marker for predicting treatment response and mortality in sepsis, it was aimed to assess the efficacy of the neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR) as a predictor of mortality and treatment response in sepsis patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). ⋯ The NLR can predict mortality and antibiotic responsiveness in ICU patients with sepsis and septic shock. If the NLR is >15 on the 3rd day of postantibiotic initiation, the risk of mortality is high and treatment should be reviewed carefully.
