To investigate morphological features of the mandibular condyle and its association with anterior temporomandibular disc displacement on sagittal oblique MRI plane. ⋯ Mandibular condyle shape alterations and condyle size on sagittal oblique MRI plane are associated with anterior disc displacement. Angled shape was more common among ADwr joints. Joints with anterior disc displacement had smaller c-APW than normal joints.

Kisspeptin is a neuropeptide with a primary role on the onset of puberty and has beneficial effects on ischemia/ reperfusion (I/R) injury. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effect of kisspeptin administration on striatal I/R injury in mice. ⋯ Our results suggest that kisspeptin may be regulating the neurotransmitter release and metabolism, as well as inflammatory response in brain upon I/R injury.

The purpose of this study is to determine the accuracy of bilateral inferior petrosal sinus sampling (IPSS) in lateralization and to investigate variables associated with accurate IPSS lateralization prediction. ⋯ IPSS is a valuable procedure in detecting tumor lateralization, especially in patients with Cushing's disease who have negative pituitary MRI results. However, since lateralization has a limited reliability, the pituitary gland should be comprehensively evaluated by taking into account the MRI findings (if positive) as well as data on the side of IPSS lateralization.

Identification of sepsis-associated encephalopathy risk factors in elderly patients: a retrospective observational cohort study.
Sepsis-associated encephalopathy (SAE) is a severe complication of sepsis that affects upwards of half of all sepsis patients. Few studies have examined the etiology and risk factors of SAE among elderly patients. This study was designed to explore the epidemiology of SAE and the risk factors associated with its development in elderly populations. ⋯ Among elderly sepsis patients, SAE risk increases with advancing age, higher blood sodium concentrations, and without underlying COPD. SAE incidence is associated with a poorer prognosis, and SOFA scores are independent predictors of increased mortality among elderly SAE patients.

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders in childhood, is diagnosed clinically by assessing the symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Also, there are limited objective assessment tools to support the diagnosis. Thus, in this study, a new electrooculography (EOG) based on visual stimulus tracking to support the diagnosis of ADHD was proposed. ⋯ The findings showed that the proposed system could be helpful to support the diagnosis of ADHD and the follow-up of the treatment.
