Embolus shedding is one of the important complications in carotid artery stenting (CAS). Carotid high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (HR-MRI) is often used to directly reflect important biological characteristics, such as plaque size and composition, as well as the structure of the carotid artery wall. The aim of this study was to investigate the predictive values of carotid HR-MRI for large embolus shedding in CAS. ⋯ Carotid HR-MRI can predict the incidence of large embolus shedding in CAS.

: Anti IL-1 therapy is useful in suppressing attacks in FMF patients with colchicine resistance, however, it is not certain whether subclinical inflammation can sufficiently be inhibited with anti-IL-1 therapy in FMF patients with amyloidosis. ⋯ Anti-interleukin-1 therapy could not fully suppress the subclinical inflammatory parameters when compared to healthy individuals.

Antinuclear antibodies (ANA) and antimitochondrial antibodies (AMA) have essential markers for the diagnosis of autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) and primary biliary cholangitis (PBC). These autoantibodies are detecting different laboratory methods. In this study, we studied the diagnostic performance of used methods in detecting ANA and AMA. ⋯ AIH/PBC has complex associations with different autoantibodies, and some of these antibodies are not readily detected by the IIF test. IB assays with a wide variety of liver-specific antigens may be helpful in the diagnosis (especially in patients with AMA negative PBC) and follow-up in AIH/PBC patients.

Mini/one anastomosis gastric bypass (MGB-OAGB) is a bariatric surgery procedure that has proved effective for weight loss and the resolution of metabolic disorders. The present study evaluates the effect on postoperative outcomes of resecting the corpus and fundus as an addition to OAGB. ⋯ The addition of resection of the gastric fundus and corpus to an OAGB has no impact on postoperative weight loss or metabolic outcomes.

Patients who were followed up for CD and treated with pasireotide between 2014-2020 at Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty, were evaluated retrospectively. The efficacy and adverse effects of pasireotide were evaluated in this study. ⋯ Pasireotide treatment is an alternative treatment in CD, remission is obtained in the first months of treatment, and continues for an extended period. Although hyperglycemia is the most common adverse effect, it can be successfully controlled.
