Metabolomics has the potential to provide putative biomarkers and insights into the pathophysiology and diagnosis of pediatric multiple sclerosis (pMS), which is an inflammatory demyelinating disorder of the central nervous system with a broad spectrum of clinical manifestations. In this study, we aimed to investigate serum metabolomics in pMS to help elucidate the pathophysiology of MS. ⋯ In general, plasma metabolites related to sphingolipid metabolism, myelin products, inflammatory pathways, mitochondrial dysfunction, and oxidative stress were found to be altered in cases of pMS. The method applied in this study, combining untargeted analysis with a targeted approach, can be applied to larger series of cases of pMS and other demyelinating disorders for further validation.

This study aims to investigate the relationship between gastric wall fat halo sign and potentially associated cardiovascular disease (CVD) in thoracic computed tomography (CT). ⋯ Patients with a gastric wall fat halo may show higher cardiovascular risk because of increased visceral fat tissue, vascular diameters, CTR, heart sizes, presence of DM, HT, increased lipid profile and calcium scores.

Use of ultrasonography in confirming the malposition of the i-gel in pediatric patients: a prospective observational study.
This study was designed to observe and compare the performance of fiberoptic laryngeal (FOL) view, leakage test (LT) and ultrasonography (USG) usage in detecting i-gel position in pediatric patients. ⋯ Ultrasonography demonstrated a very good diagnostic performance in the detection of optimal i-gel placement according to both FOL and LT. However, both FOL and LT showed poor diagnostic performance compared to USG in demonstrating i-gel malposition.

The purpose of the study was to cross-culturally adapt the Multiple Sclerosis Impact Scale-29 (MSIS-29) into Turkish and evaluate its reliability and validity in patients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). ⋯ Turkish version of the MSIS-29 is a reliable and valid tool in individuals with MS.
