Exosomes derived from oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) could modulate OSCC development. This study aimed to explore effects of exosome-mediated lncRNA PART1 on OSCC cells. ⋯ Exosome-mediated lncRNA PART1 could mediate the OSCC progression via miR-17-5p/SOCS6 axis in vitro, suggesting that lncRNA PART1 might be a target for treating OSCC.

The long-term effects of pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) and maintenance programs in obstructive pulmonary diseases have not been sufficiently investigated, particularly in diseases other than COPD. This retrospective study aimed to examine the long-term results of individualized comprehensive outpatient pulmonary rehabilitation in patients with obstructive pulmonary disease. ⋯ The long-term effectiveness of PR in patients with bronchiectasis and asthma was similar to that of COPD patients. Therefore, multidisciplinary, comprehensive PR programs should be integrated into the management of patients with bronchiectasis and asthma. We also recommend structured follow-up programs to maintain gains and to detect the need for rerehabilitation.

Hepayocyte loss may develop secondary to liver surgery and at this point liver regeneration plays a significant act in terms of liver reserve. The purpose of this research was to investigate the efficacy of apocynin on liver regeneration and preservation after partial hepatectomy in rats. ⋯ Histopathology, immunohistochemistry, and biochemistry results of this study revealed that apocynin has a protective effect on enhancing liver regeneration in partial hepatectomy cases in rats.

Mechanisms to explain inflammation in male infertility of unknown cause are still being investigated. The inflammasome is a key regulator of innate immunity in the inflammatory response to infections. Our study aims to investigate the effects of varicocele on infertility, its relationship with antioxidant and inflammasome mechanisms, and how it could be guided in azoospermic or nonazoospermic patients. ⋯ Inflammasome mechanisms, such as NLRP3 and IL1-β molecules, may provide additional benefit in evaluating the need and benefit of surgical or medical treatment in infertility with and without vascular pathology and with and without azoospermia.

IGF-1 (insulin-like growth factor-1) is an important regulator of bone formation. Its deficiency has been associated with fetal growth disorders and hip dysplasia. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether IGF-1, IGF-BP3 (insulin like growth factorbinding protein 3), and IGF-BP5 levels in the umbilical cord blood can be predictive for early diagnosis of DDH. ⋯ Umbilical blood samples could potentially help diagnose DDH. The levels of IGF-BP5 were shown to be significantly lower in infants with DDH.
