Observational Study
The effects of on-pump and off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery on oxidative stress and cerebral oxygenation: a prospective observational study.
In this prospective observational study, our goal was to investigate the relationship between serum levels of oxidative stress (OS) parameters and regional cerebral oxygen saturation (rSO2) in addition to evaluating postoperative clinical outcomes among patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG). ⋯ In our study, we observed elevated OS values and relatively low rSO2 values during on-pump CABG procedures, with rSO2 showing an association with increased OS parameters. Close monitoring of the OS response level and rSO2 during CABG could potentially enhance postoperative clinical outcomes.

The effect of phototherapy treatment on serum melatonin levels in term newborns.
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of phototherapy treatment on serum melatonin levels in term newborn infants. ⋯ It was determined that there was no significant difference in serum melatonin levels in term newborn babies who received phototherapy for at least 6 h due to jaundice. No correlation was found between the duration of phototherapy application and the serum melatonin level of the maximum bilirubin values.

In this prospective study, we aimed to investigate the association of serum (s) and urine (u) IP-10, galectin-9, and SIGLEC-1 with disease activity in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). ⋯ sIP-10, uIP-10, sGalectin-9, and uSIGLEC-1 reflect global disease activity in SLE but do not outperform C3 and C4. sIP-10 and uIP-10 may be specific for active SLE compared to active AAV. sIP-10 and sGalectin-9 might be valuable in monitoring response after treatment.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the performance of contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM) and dynamic breast MRI techniques for diagnosing breast lesions, assess the diagnostic accuracy of CEM's using histopathological findings, and compare lesion size measurements obtained from both methods with pathological size. ⋯ CEM can be used with high sensitivity and similar diagnostic performance comparable to MRI for diagnosing breast cancer. CEM proves to be a successful diagnostic method for precisely determining tumor size.

Total kidney volume (TKV) is a parameter used in both treatment decision and follow-up in autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) patients. The objective of this study was to evaluate intra- and interobserver agreement of the ellipsoid formula (EF) and manual boundary tracing method (MBTM) used in TKV measurement of ADPKD patients across different levels of experience radiologists. Additionally, the study aimed to evaluate the correlation between the EF and MBTM, which is considered the gold standard for TKV. ⋯ Both the EF and MBTM methods used for the measurement of TKV provided excellent intra- and interobserver reproducibility. The EF is as accurate and precise as the MBTM. It may therefore be preferred in radiology departments with heavy workload, as it is a reliable method for rapid and easy assessment, independent of experience.
