Metabolomics has the potential to provide putative biomarkers and insights into the pathophysiology and diagnosis of pediatric multiple sclerosis (pMS), which is an inflammatory demyelinating disorder of the central nervous system with a broad spectrum of clinical manifestations. In this study, we aimed to investigate serum metabolomics in pMS to help elucidate the pathophysiology of MS. ⋯ In general, plasma metabolites related to sphingolipid metabolism, myelin products, inflammatory pathways, mitochondrial dysfunction, and oxidative stress were found to be altered in cases of pMS. The method applied in this study, combining untargeted analysis with a targeted approach, can be applied to larger series of cases of pMS and other demyelinating disorders for further validation.

It was aimed to analyze the relationship between tuberculosis-related mortality and nitrous oxide emission levels in the world with the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) Method. ⋯ Research results show that the relationship between nitrous oxide change and mortality is negative in the short term and positive in the long term. Therefore, although nitrous oxide gases cause respiratory diseases and mortality, it may be possible to transform a harmful environmental factor into a positive by developing devices or methods that will convert these gases into free radicals.

Discrimination of consecutive sensory stimuli is imperative for proper sensory perception and behavioral response. We aimed to investigate the emergence of paired somatosensory responses in relation to the interstimulus interval (ISI) change. ⋯ The shaping of 2nd somatosensory response is dependent on ISIs. Early high-frequency oscillations changes without accompanying late high-frequency oscillations alterations, may indicate that reduced thalamo-cortical drive to the cortex take a part in determining the 2nd response at short ISI. Further research is required by using neuropsychiatric disorder models where somatosensory perception is impaired.

The revised Leeds Disability Questionnaire (RLDQ) is a unique assessment tool for patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS); its comprehensive structure includes posture and neck flexibility parameters. The aim of the study was to determine the psychometric properties of the Turkish RLDQ in patients with AS. ⋯ The Turkish version of the RLDQ was found to be valid and reliable in patients with AS. It should be emphasized that the RLDQ is a distinctive and valuable tool that focuses separately on neck, posture, or other mobility parameters in the clinical assessment of AS.
