COVID - 19 disease may be seen with different clinical presentations in pregnant women. Comorbid diseases are important factors affecting the progression of this disease. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the clinical and laboratory findings in pregnant women with COVID - 19 who had no comorbid disease. ⋯ Most of the patients (78%) were in the third trimester of pregnancy, and 103 patients in the study group had severe disease. Fever in the non-severe group and respiratory distress in the severe group were the most common symptoms in the patients. The severe clinical manifestations were specifically observed in the third trimester patients. In the severe group, neutrophil, lactat dehydrogenase, ferritin, CK - MB, IL - 6, and hospital stay were statistically higher than those in other groups (p < 0.05). Increase in BUN and creatine were the most predictive parameters in intensive care admission. While the intensive care unit (ICU) requirement was higher in patients in the severe group, premature birth was observed more frequently in the severe group (p < 0.05) .

The objective of this study was to investigate the effects that the application of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) following tendon repair have on the strength and healing of the tendon and also to examine the possible mechanisms of action that take place. ⋯ Inflammatory cell density increased most significantly in the combined group when compared to the first and second months. T he fibroblast density on the tendon repair region was significantly lower in the second-months groups of each intervention compared to their first-month groups (p = 0.001). For the analysis of the maximum tensile breaking force, the behaviors of the groups over time were significant when compared to the control groups (p = 0.0015). Also, the mean maximum breaking force in the combined group was statistically significantly higher at the end of the second month than at the end of the first month (p = 0.0008).

A Comparison of Angled (D-Blade) and Macintosh (C-MAC) Videolaryngoscopes for Simulated Difficult Airway in Pediatric Patients: A Randomized Single-blind Study.
Being prepared for difficult airway (DA) is nevertheless of great importance. Failed or delayed tracheal intubation (TI) can increase morbidity and mortality, and the pediatric population is more prone to hypoxia. With the development of different types of videolaryngoscope (VL), these have become the device of choice in patients with DA. Our primary aim was to compare intubation times with D-blade and Macintosh blade of Storz C-MAC in a simulated pediatric DA scenario with this randomized controlled trial. ⋯ Demographic data were similar between the groups. There were also no significant differences in pre and postintubation heart rates, blood pressure, or SpO2 values (p > 0.05 for all). Mean intubation times for the MAC and D-Blade groups were 12.14 ± 2.79 s and 18.31 ± 10.86 s, respectively (p = 0.022). MCLS scores were lower in the D-Blade group (p = 0.030).

TPSORTAKSIS is a psoriasis registry, which is used for follow-up of patients in Kayseri City Education and Research Hospital, Dermatology Clinic since 2016 in Turkey. PSORTAKSIS includes demographic data, follow-up clinical findings, laboratory output, and treatment information of patients. Here, drug survivals of biologic therapeutics (BT) according to three-year data of PSORTAKSIS will be presented. ⋯ 158 patients (111 of them BT-naive) with psoriasis under BT were enrolled in the current study. Drug survival analysis of patients with ongoing BT (158 treatment periods) revealed mean survival time as 15.49 months for ustekinumab, 15.37 months for adalimumab, 14.00 months for etanercept, 5 months for infliximab, and 4.59 months for secukinumab. The differences between drug survivals of BT were statistically significant (log-rank test, χ2 = 79.915, p < 0.0001).

Next generation sequencing provides new information about the molecular pathogenesis of cancer. We used a targeted NGS-based multiple gene panel comprising prostate cancer (PCa) predisposing genes to assess the prevalence of germline mutations in PCa patients. ⋯ With an incidence of less than 5% in different populations (MAF<0.05); a total of 81 variants were identified, including 41 missense, 16 synonymous, 3 splice-site, 11 intronic, 5 in-del and 5 novels. According to the ACMG criteria, 5 (6.2%) of these variants are pathogenic/likely pathogenic; 5 (6.2%) of them were classified as novel variants. In addition, variants having very low-frequency and unknown clinical significance (VUS) in the databases were detected.
