The relation between the demographic characteristics of individuals and their health-seeking behaviors was presented and the effects of health cognitions, healthy lifestyle behaviors, and coronavirus fear levels on health-seeking behaviors during the COVID-19 pandemic were examined. ⋯ While fear of COVID-19 was not significantly influential, health cognitions and healthy lifestyle behaviors were the main factors that led to health-seeking behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) usually affects the wrist, metacarpophalangeal joint, and proximal interphalangeal joint of the hands. However, the distal interphalangeal (DIP) joints may also be involved in RA patients. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the frequency and associated factors of DIP joint erosion in patients with RA. ⋯ In this large-sample study, we reported DIP joint involvement in patients with RA. Advanced age could have affected the results because hand erosions increase above 50 years in a healthy population. Our results may provide a different perspective on joint involvement in RA.

Autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease is an inherited kidney disease. This study aims to detect rare and common DNA variants of the PKHD1 gene using next-generation sequencing (NGS) and to classify them in terms of being pathogenic according to The American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics. ⋯ This fast and economical molecular diagnostic approach will provide a reliable prenatal diagnostic option, enabling definitive disease diagnosis and the identification of carriers.

Although high muscle strength worsens the sense of force, it is unknown whether there is a relationship between this deterioration and the underlying molecular mechanisms. This study examined the relationship between decreased force sense (FS) acuity and strength-related gene expressions. ⋯ The time points of gene expression levels during exercise need to be considered. The force acuity of those whose maximal force develops too much may deteriorate.

Meningiomas are the most common primary brain tumors of the central nervous system. Immunotherapy is a promising treatment method applied in many types of cancer. There is no standard and effective medical treatment to reduce recurrence and mortality in cases of incomplete resection of meningiomas and in high-grade cases. In order to investigate medical treatments in addition to surgery and radiotherapy, in this study, the status of immune checkpoint molecules (PD-L1/PD-1), which are the target of immunotherapy, in meningiomas was investigated. ⋯ With these data, it was observed that the expression of immune checkpoint molecules PD-L1 and PD-1 increased especially in high-grade meningiomas. It may be the subject of research that these molecules may be targets of immunotherapy in the treatment of meningiomas.
