Two different scoring systems were developed to determine the severity of bronchiectasis: FACED scoring and the bronchiectasis severity index (BSI). In this study, we aim to compare these 2 scoring systems according to the 6-min walking distance test and a disease-specific health status questionnaire in patients with noncystic fibrosis bronchiectasis (NCFB). ⋯ Although both FACED and BSI scores were negatively correlated with walking distance and health status in patients with NCFB, BSI was more strongly associated.

Quantification of oral mucositis that progresses during concomitant chemo-radiotherapy (CCRT) is essential for its management. It is important to determine the methods that are simple, reliable and beneficial in foreseeing mucositis at earlier stages of treatment. ⋯ According to the findings of the study, oral mucositis grade is directly proportional to the progressing days of CCRT. Oral mucositis is frequently related to adverse clinical outcomes, affecting the patient’s quality of life. It is essential to develop methods that can be employed for the assessment of CCRT associated oral mucositis.

Fatigue is very common symptom in patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc) and adversely affects health-related quality of life and the ability to perform daily living activities. This study aimed to determine the severity of fatigue, and its related factors, in patients with SSc. ⋯ Along with the decrease in diffusion capacity, increase dyspnea, a decrease in both peripheral and respiratory muscle strength, and worsening functional capacity may have an effect on increased fatigue in SSc patients. Increased fatigue can also affect the life quality and daily life activities of a patient. Therefore, multidisciplinary approaches are recommended to evaluate and improve these parameters in the treatment of fatigue from the early period in SSc patients.

Prostatic artery embolization (PAE) is a minimally invasive effective method in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The procedure is technically challenging, as pelvic vascular anatomy is highly prone to variations and the identification of the prostatic artery (PA) is the most time-consuming step, which can lead to increased procedure times. The aim of this study was to categorize the anatomic variations in the prostatic supply in patients with BPH treated with PAE. ⋯ Anatomic variations are common in the IIA and PA, showing racial and individual differences. Following a standard classification system to identify the origin of the PA is crucial and being aware of the most common types in each population will make PAE a faster and safer procedure.

Coronavirus 2019 disease (Covid-19) was first seen in December 2019 and afterwards it became pandemic. Several systemic involvements have been reported in Covid-19 patients. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the cerebrovascular hemodynamics in patients with Covid-19. ⋯ An increase in basal cerebral blood velocity and a decrease in vasomotor reactivity rates in patients with Covid-19 can be considered as an indicator of dysfunction of cerebral hemodynamics in the central nervous system and this can be evaluated as a result of endothelial dysfunction.
