To determine the effect of different doses of capsaicin on AgNOR protein synthesis in human colon adenocarcinoma derivate from colon cancer (Caco-2 cell). ⋯ A certain amount of capsaicin has a protective effect against colon adenocarcinoma and the dose concentrations are important for the most reliable treatment.

Randomized Controlled Trial Observational Study
The effect of vitamin d status on different neuromuscular blocker agents reverse time.
This study is aimed to investigate the effects of vitamin D levels on sugammadex and neostigmine reversal times. ⋯ Vitamin D deficiency is important for anesthesiologists in terms of muscle strength and extubation time. Vitamin D deficiency seems to affect sugammadex reverse times but seems not to affect neostigmine reverse times. This conclusion needs further studies.

Comparative Study
Real-Life Comparison of the Viewing Angle and the Image Quality of Two Commonly Used Viewing Systems for Vitreoretinal Surgery.
To compare the clinical use, image quality and viewing angle of a commonly used contact wide angle viewing (WAV) system (Advanced Visual Instruments (AVI) Panoramic Imaging Systems, NY, USA) with a commonly used noncontact WAV system (Leica RUV800, Leica Microsystems, Switzerland). ⋯ Both WAV systems provided high image quality and adequate viewing angles in most cases. However, the contact system appeared to provide a superior image quality and/or a wider viewing angle in more challenging situations. The difficulty of holding the contact lens in place was found to be moderate.

In temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), brain positron emission tomography (PET) performed with F-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) is commonly used for lateralization of the epileptogenic temporal lobe. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the success of quantitative analysis of brain FDG PET images using data mining methods in the lateralization of the epileptogenic temporal lobe. ⋯ Lateralization of the epileptogenic temporal lobe with data mining methods using regional metabolic asymmetry values obtained from interictal brain FDG PET images in mesial TLE patients is highly accurate. The application of data mining can contribute to the reader in the process of visual evaluation of FDG PET images of the brain.
