The aim of our study was to evaluate the long-term impacts of Kawasaki disease on our patients regarding coronary involvement demographic characteristics, treatment regimens, and clinical course. ⋯ In our study, serum CRP levels, WBC count, and neutrophil count were higher in patients with coronary artery abnormalities, in agreement with the previous studies. In the light of our results, we consider that the most important determining factor for the development of coronary artery aneurysm is the time of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) administration.

Survival outcomes of patients with oligometastatic non-small cell lung cancer who were treated with radical therapy: a multicenter analysis.
Oligometastatic disease for nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients is generally thought to represent a better prognosis with a quieter biology, limited number of disease sites and long-term disease control. In this study, we aimed to determine the efficacy of radical treatment options for patients with oligometastatic NSCLC. ⋯ Based on our real-life experience, we demonstrated a significant correlation between good response to first treatment and survival in oligometastatic disease, we also understand that local ablative treatment modalities prolong and also delay both OS and PFS in oligometastatic NSCLC patients OS-2.

Zero ischemia robotic partial nephrectomy: Oncological and functional outcomes of a multicenter study.
The functional and oncological outcomes of zero ischemia robotic partial nephrectomy (RPN) procedures were evaluated. ⋯ Zero ischemia RPN is a safe and applicable method with acceptable oncological and functional outcomes in small renal tumors and even in selected larger renal tumors.

Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is a chronic immune-mediated disease. Telemedicine is a healthcare technology used when a patient is separated by distance. The reliability of the Pediatric Eosinophilic Esophagitis Symptom Score, version 2.0 (PEESS v2.0) for telemedicine applications, has not been studied yet. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate the reliability of PEESS v2.0 for telemedicine. ⋯ Unsynchronized telesurvey use of PEESS v2.0 is unreliable both for children and parents. We suggest testing the reliability of chosen telemedicine methods before using them in clinical and research practice.

Alpha-1 antitrypsin (AAT) deficiency is associated with several types of pathology, and the reported effects of mutations in the ATT-encoding gene vary worldwide. No Turkish study has yet appeared. We thus explored the AAT status of Turkish patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). ⋯ In patients with emphysema and normal serum AAT levels, genetic analyses may reveal relevant heterozygous mutations, which are commonly ignored. Most clinicians focus on lower lobe emphysema. Evaluations of such patients might reveal AAT mutations that are presently overlooked because they are not considered to influence COPD status.
