The aim of this study was to adapt the "Quality of Recovery-15 Scale", developed to measure the postoperative recovery quality of individuals, into Turkish by carrying out validity and reliability studies. ⋯ The "Quality of Recovery Scale" was found to be a reliable and valid scale that can be used to measure the quality of recovery after surgery in Turkish society.

Accurately measuring and recording the length or area of lesions affects the judgement of the forensic report, surgical wound management and, in some countries, the billing of health care services. The aim of this study was to determine whether the length and area of lesions described by physicians by estimation are accurate. ⋯ When preparing forensic reports, determining surgical wound management and billing, estimated data should not be used in lesion description. It would also be useful to develop tools that will enable physicians to make measurements in terms of easy use.

Acne vulgaris (AV) is a common inflammatory skin condition associated with psychological and social distress. Its pathogenesis involves factors such as sebaceous hypersecretion and Cutibacterium acnes colonization. Vitamin D plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of various inflammatory skin disorders, including AV, due to its immunomodulatory effects and involvement in keratinocyte growth and maturity. However, adequate sun exposure is required for optimal vitamin D synthesis. Isotretinoin (IOS), a vitamin A derivative, is a commonly used medication for severe acne, acting by binding to retinoid receptors. It can also form heterodimers with vitamin D receptors, potentially increasing vitamin D catabolism. Previous studies examining the impact of oral IOS on serum vitamin D levels have yielded inconsistent results. Therefore, this study aimed to assess changes in 25-hydroxy (OH) vitamin D serum levels in individuals with severe AV before and after IOS treatment. ⋯ This study suggests that AV may negatively impact vitamin D synthesis, but IOS treatment appears to raise vitamin D serum levels in individuals with severe AV. Further research is needed to confirm the potential relationship between AV and vitamin D levels.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) may cause modifications in body composition, particularly for body fat associated with obesity and some biochemical parameters such as lipid profiles. We investigated whether there is a link between the inflammatory contents of diets and body composition and lipid profiles in patients with MS. ⋯ We showed that DII scores, associated with the inflammatory potential of the diet and proinflammatory diets, may be associated with adiposity in MS patients and can be used from a clinical point of view for assessment.

In this cross-sectional study, it was aimed to test the predictive value of noncriteria antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL) in addition to the global antiphospholipid syndrome score (GAPSS) in predicting vascular thrombosis (VT) in a cohort of patients with APS and aPL (+) systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). ⋯ Both the GAPSS and aGAPSS successfully predict the thrombotic risk in aPL (+) patients and aCL IgA, aβ2GPI IgA, and aDI IgG do not contribute to high a GAPSS or aGAPSS.
