Trunk control, which plays a key role in balance and mobility, decreases in patients with multiple sclerosis (PwMS) and many parameters such as sensory, motor, and musculoskeletal systems affect trunk control. The aim of this study was to compare trunk control, spinal mobility, and spinal posture in PwMS with healthy controls and investigate the relationship between trunk control with spinal posture and spinal mobility in PwMS. ⋯ These findings indicate the importance of early detection of trunk disturbances in PwMS. Thus, even in the early stages of multiple sclerosis, detailed trunk assessment will guide the implementation of comprehensive exercise programs.

This study describes ventral-approach augmented nontransected anastomotic (vANTA) urethroplasty and presents the preliminary functional results of patients treated with this technique. ⋯ In cases of bulbar urethral strictures, vANTA urethroplasty is an effective treatment option with limited postoperative complications. Preserving the underlying corpus spongiosum is important to avoid impaired sexual function.

The incidence of adrenal tumors is increasing due to the widespread utilization of radiographic imaging techniques. Factors such as tumor size, radiological characteristics, and functionality of adrenal adenomas play crucial roles in diagnosis and subsequent management. In this retrospective study, we investigated the clinical, radiological, and surgical features of patients with adrenal incidentalomas (AIs) and evaluated their follow-up results. ⋯ Although the majority of AIs are nonfunctioning, the prevalence of functioning adrenal adenomas is not rare. Our findings suggest that adenoma size emerges as a valuable predictor for early detection of functioning adenomas. In addition, smaller masses appear to carry a lower risk of malignancy.

Türkiye is a country with an increasing life expectancy and an older adult population in parallel with the rest of the world. Several national small-scale studies were performed regarding the prevalence and characteristics of dementia in Türkiye, and the results of these studies differ from each other. We aimed to determine the prevalence of dementia in Türkiye to present the demographic characteristics, the frequency of use of health services, and the management of dementia. ⋯ The prevalence of patients living with dementia in Türkiye is lower than the global average. This suggests that most dementia cases are overlooked, highlighting the need to raise dementia awareness both in the community and among primary health care providers who frequently encounter older individuals. The study is significant in that it is the first to show the nationwide frequency of dementia in Türkiye.

Different side effects, including infections, are encountered in patients receiving anticytokines used for the treatment of severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The aim of this study was to evaluate the infections and the effects of these infections that develop in this patient group. ⋯ Infection rates were higher in the anakinra group, especially the pneumonia and BSI rates were higher than in the tocilizumab group. The 30-day mortality rates were higher in patients who had an infection, especially in the tocilizumab group. This is one of the rare studies that evaluated infections developing in patients treated with anakinra and tocilizumab together.
