To perform a prospective audit of inductions of labour using prostaglandins to assess the protocols for induction in use at that time. ⋯ The protocols for induction of labour using prostaglandins presently in use appear to be safe although staff need to be well informed about the management of hyperstimulation should it occur. Further audit of indications for induction of labour and of the caesarean section rate is required.

Suicide in custody: occurrence in Maori and nonMaori New Zealanders.
To assess whether Maori people are particularly vulnerable to suicide in custody. ⋯ These results suggest that reduction of Maori suicides in custody is most likely to be achieved by tackling the overrepresentation of Maori people in custody.
