Impact of nerve stimulator-guided obturator nerve block on the short-term outcomes and complications of transurethral resection of bladder tumour: A prospective randomized controlled study.
In this prospective randomized controlled study, we investigated the efficacy of obturator nerve block (ONB) on adductor muscle spasm and related short-term outcomes and complications in patients who underwent transurethral resection of lateral wall-located bladder tumours (TURBT). ⋯ We found that ONB performed after spinal anesthesia was effective in preventing intraoperative complications due to adductor muscle spasm while performing TURBT. Our study limitations include its small sample size, since we only enrolled patients with primary lateral wall-localized bladder tumour. Also, we excluded patients who underwent bipolar TURBT.

Conservative treatment for Brucella testicular abscesses: A case report and literature review.
Brucellosis is a multi-organ infectious disease that can cause genitourinary manifestations.1-4 The most common genitourinary manifestation is orchitis;2,4 however, intratesticular abscesses are a rare complication. Although surgery is the standard treatment for intratesticular abscesses, medical therapy alone can be successful. ⋯ An ultrasound showed multiple small testicular abscesses, and the repeat diluted brucella titer demonstrated the causative pathogen. The patient was successfully treated with 3 months of oral targeted antibiotics, with no need for drainage or orchiectomy.

Perception, career choice and self-efficacy of UK medical students and junior doctors in urology.
There is a growing concern about the reduced clinical exposure to urology at undergraduate level in the United Kingdom. As a consequence, the competencies of junior doctors are considered inadequate. The views of these doctors in training towards urology remain under reported. ⋯ Urology is perceived as male dominated and is the least likely surgical speciality to be pursued as a career option according to our survey. Increased exposure to urology at the undergraduate level and dedicated workshops for core urological procedures are needed to address these challenges.

External validation of the S.T.O.N.E. nephrolithometry scoring system.
We perform external validation of the S.T.O.N.E. nephrolithometry scoring system for the preoperative assessment of percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) outcomes. ⋯ Although this study externally validates the S.T.O.N.E. scoring system, its accuracy is comparable to stone size and number of involved calyces in predicting stone-free status post-PCNL.
