Bladder catheter can induce a Catheter-Related Bladder Discomfort (CRBD). Antagonist of muscarinic receptor is the gold standard treatment. Clonazepam is an antimuscarinic, muscle relaxing oral drug. The aim of this study is to look for a correlation between the type of surgical procedure and the existence of CRBD and to evaluate the efficiency of clonazepam. ⋯ 5.

Observational Study
[PSA testing, biopsy and cancer and benign prostate hyperplasia in France].
Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) testing is high in France. The aim of this study was to estimate their frequency and those of biopsy and newly diagnosed cancer (PCa) according to the presence or absence of treated benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). ⋯ 4.

Ischemia reperfusion injury occurs in the kidney when blood supply is interrupted in clinical settings such as kidney transplantation or nephron sparing surgery for renal tumors. These lesions lead to acute kidney injury (AKI) a detrimental situation associated with impaired short-term allograft function (delayed graft function or primary non function) but also long-term transplant survival through the onset of chronic allograft nephropathy. The present review details the cellular and molecular consequences of ischemia reperfusion in a native kidney as well as in a kidney graft after cold ischemia time, giving a comprehensive description of biological pathways involved during the phase of ischemia and during the reperfusion period where the rapid return to normoxia leads to a large burst of reactive oxygen species along with a dramatic reduction in antioxidant defenses. This work also focuses on the distinct susceptibilities of kidney cells to ischemia (endothelial vs epithelial) and the outcome of acute kidney injury.

In France, organ donation refusal rates approach 32% of eligible brain deaths. Outright family refusal represents the primary barrier reason for declining organ donation. This retrospective study evaluated factors influencing this decision. ⋯ Family refusal remains a significant factor associated with the approximately one third of declined eligible organ donations. This retrospective analysis suggested that the most important cause for refusal was a desire to keep the body's wholeness, and the brutality and suddenness of the potential donor's death. Additional research addressing these factors, and their underlying causes, paired with measures to improve professional training and public awareness are warranted to improve organ donation rates.

To compare peri-operative outcomes of open radical prostatectomy (ORP) to laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (LRP) in a single French institution. ⋯ Patients in the LRP group had lower operative blood losses and a shorter length of hospitalization. However, in the ORP group, operative time was shorter and positive margins rate was lower.
