Multicenter StudyThe dynamic locking blade plate: seven-year follow-up results of 389 patients with a femoral neck fracture.
This study aimed to investigate the long-term outcomes of patients with a femoral neck fracture (FNF), treated with the Dynamic Locking Blade Plate (DLBP). ⋯ This study is the first long-term follow-up study on the outcome of the DLBP. The DLBP demonstrated positive long-term results in the treatment of FNF.

Application of the PANELVIEW instrument to evaluate the guideline development process of the German polytrauma guideline.
PANELVIEW is an instrument for evaluating the appropriateness of the process, methods, and outcome of guideline development and the satisfaction of the guideline group with these steps. ⋯ The PANELVIEW tool showed that the guideline group was satisfied with most aspects of the guideline development process. Areas for improvement of the process were identified. Strategies to improve response rates should be explored.

Comparative StudyRenal angioembolization vs. surgery for high-grade renal trauma: a nationwide comparative analysis.
Renal angioembolization (RAE) is widely employed in low-grade renal injuries and associated with improved patient outcomes, while surgery remains the mainstay for managing high-grade injuries. We compared the outcomes following surgery and RAE in high-grade renal trauma (HGRT). ⋯ Overall, RAE did not significantly impact morbidity but was associated with improved mortality. RAE could safeguard renal function by augmenting the efficacy of concurrent non-operative interventions. Randomized studies are needed to further validate the utility of RAE in HGRT.

Angioembolization in patients with blunt splenic trauma in Germany -guidelines vs. Reality a retrospective registry-based cohort study of the TraumaRegister DGU®.
Nonoperative management (NOM) for blunt splenic injuries (BSIs) is supported by both international and national guidelines in Germany, with high success rates even for severe organ injuries. Angioembolization (ANGIO) has been recommended for stabilizable patients with BSI requiring intervention since the 2016 German National Trauma Guideline. The objectives were to study treatment modalities in the adult BSI population according to different severity parameters including NOM, ANGIO and splenectomy in Germany. ⋯ In this cohort splenic injuries AAST ≥ 3 were predominantly managed surgically and ANGIO was rarely used to augment NOM. Therefore, clinical reality deviates from guideline recommendations regarding the use of ANGIO and NOM. Local interdisciplinary treatment protocols might close that gap in the future.

Satisfactory 2-year outcome of minimal invasive hybrid stabilization with double treated screws for unstable osteoporotic spinal fractures.
This study evaluates whether the fracture level alters the outcomes of minimally invasive hybrid stabilization (MIHS) with double-threaded, uncemented polyaxial screws for unstable osteoporotic vertebral fractures. ⋯ MIHS using polyaxial screws is a safe treatment for single-level osteoporotic spinal fractures. Fracture level did not alter radiological reduction loss; however, it significantly altered patients' function at 24 months.
