Imaging risk factors for predicting postoperative complications of intramedullary nailing for tibial fracture.
The objective of this study was to analyze the ratio of fracture site diameter to tibial isthmus diameter (TFI ratio) as a predictor of postoperative complications, including malunion and delayed union, after tibial intramedullary nailing for middle and lower tibial fractures. ⋯ The results of this study suggest that a wider intramedullary diameter and a shorter fixed length at the fracture site are associated with a higher incidence of complications after tibial intramedullary nailing. The TFI ratio may be used as a reliable parameter for predicting complications after such surgery. In patients with a high TFI ratio (≥ 1.31), additional reduction and fixation techniques may be needed to obtain and maintain fracture reduction.

Replantation of digit-tip amputation caused by crush injuries with supermicrosurgery technique.
Digit-tip amputation caused by crush injury is a common emergency scenario, and the management is full of challenges. The objective of this study was to demonstrate the application of the supermicrosurgery technique in replantation procedures for complex digit-tip amputations resulting from crush injuries, while also assessing functional and aesthetic outcomes. ⋯ The successful replantation of digit-tip amputation caused by crush injury can be achieved through the application of supermicrosurgery technique, resulting in improved functional and aesthetic outcomes. Digit-tip replantation is a favorable and meaningful procedure with high patient satisfaction.

Distribution characteristics of perioperative deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and risk factors of postoperative DVT exacerbation in patients with thoracolumbar fractures caused by high-energy injuries.
To investigate the distribution characteristics of perioperative deep venous thrombosis (DVT) in patients with thoracolumbar fractures caused by high-energy injuries and analyze the risk factors of postoperative DVT exacerbation. ⋯ The intermuscular vein is the most easily involved vein. The anatomical distribution of DVT at different fracture sites is different, and patients with thoracic fractures are more likely to have proximal DVT after operation. Age, lower extremity muscle strength, time from injury to operation, and blood loss were risk factors for postoperative DVT exacerbation.

Reliability of preoperative conventional X-ray diagnostics for multifragmentary midclavicular fractures - a retrospective cohort study.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the reliability of assessing preoperative conventional X-ray diagnostics in determining whether a comminuted clavicle fracture is present. ⋯ The results of this study suggest that conventional X-ray diagnostics may not always detect comminuted clavicle shaft fractures. The treating physician should be aware of this issue.

Impact of video recordings review with structured debriefings on trauma team performance: a prospective observational cohort study.
To determine the impact of structured debriefings (SD) with audio/video review of trauma patients' resuscitation events on trauma team (TT) technical and non-technical skills. ⋯ In this study, we found that structured debriefings with review of patients' resuscitation video recordings can have a significant positive impact on trauma team performance in the emergency department in both technical and non-technical skills.
