Effect of one-lung ventilation on the correlation between left and right cerebral saturation.
To investigate if the correlation between left and right cerebral tissue oxygen saturation (SctO2) was affected by one-lung ventilation (OLV) in patients undergoing lung cancer surgery. ⋯ The correlation between left and right SctO2 was affected by one-lung ventilation in patients undergoing lung cancer surgery. This result indicates the requirement of bilateral SctO2 monitoring to reflect brain oxygenation.

Preliminary evaluation of SaCoVLM video laryngeal mask-guided intubation in airway management for anesthetized children.
To preliminary evaluate the application of novel SaCoVLM video laryngeal mask -guided intubation for anesthetized children. ⋯ The SaCoVLM video laryngeal mask-guided intubation is feasible in children, with a high success rate, could be a new promising device to guide intubation in airway management.

To investigate the possible influence of prolonged ketamine (K) or esketamine (ESK) infusion on the profile of liver cholestatic biomarkers in patients with COVID-19 infection. ⋯ Based on the observations of biliary anomalies in chronic ketamine abusers, prolonged exposure to ketamine sedation during mechanical ventilation may also be involved, in addition to viral infection causing secondary sclerosing cholangitis. The safety of prolonged ketamine sedation on the biliary tract requires further investigations.

It has been suggested that administration of exogenous ketone supplements (EKSs) not only increases blood ketone body levels but also decreases blood glucose level and modulates isoflurane-induced anesthesia in different rodents, such as Wistar Albino Glaxo Rijswijk (WAG/Rij) rats. Thus, we investigated whether administration of EKSs can modulate the isoflurane anesthesia-generated increase in blood glucose level and the time required to recover from isoflurane-induced anesthesia. ⋯ Putative influence of elevated blood ketone body level on isoflurane-evoked effects, such as modulation of blood glucose level and recovery time from anesthesia, should be considered by anesthesiologists.

Efficacy of transversalis fascia plane block as a novel ındication for varicocelectomy surgery: prospective randomized controlled study.
Varicocele occurs as a result of dilatation of the pampiniform plexus in the spermatic veins. In this study, our primary aim was to evaluate the effect of Transversalis Fascia Plane Block (TFPB) on pain scores in the postoperative period in patients undergoing varicocelectomy surgery, and our secondary aim was to evaluate the effect of TFPB on analgesic consumption. ⋯ This study has shown that TFPB can provide a more effective analgesia when compared to surgical site infiltration.
