[Bispectral index during induction and awakening from sedation with sevoflurane for magnetic resonance imaging in children].
To determine the bispectral (BIS) index during induction of sedation with sevoflurane and awakening in children undergoing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). ⋯ In the absence of painful stimuli, the BIS index reflects the patient's level of hypnosis but does not predict recovery of consciousness.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study[Comparison of anesthetic maintenance and recovery with propofol versus sevoflurane combined with remifentanil in craniotomy for supratentorial neoplasm].
To compare the effectiveness of propofol versus sevoflurane associated with remifentanil on the maintenance of anesthesia and on recovery in patients undergoing elective supratentorial craniotomy. ⋯ Combining remifentanil with propofol or with sevoflurane provides satisfactory anesthesia during elective supratentorial craniotomy to remove a brain neoplasm. Hemodynamic stability is appropriate and recovery from anesthesia is rapid.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study[Comparison of 2 techniques for combined spinal-epidural analgesia for advanced labor in childbirth].
To assess whether using a needle-locking device in combined spinal-epidural analgesia leads to better quality of pain relief for advanced stages of obstetric labor than can be achieved with conventional materials. ⋯ The use of devices specifically designed for administering combined spinal-epidural analgesia in advanced stages of labor provides faster pain relief, longer duration of analgesia, and greater maternal satisfaction without increasing the incidence of complications.
