[Procalcitonin--marker of infectious inflammation: clinical value and application].
The development of septic shock is accompanied by an essential increase of the level of Procalcitonin (PCT). The growth of the PCT level in blood is often associated with bacteremia. A-->2 ng/ml PCT increase in patients with agranulocytosis makes it possible to distinguish between the pneumonia as a local focus of infection and the pneumonia in sepsis. A high PCT level in bacterial and fungus infections makes it possible to distinguish them from viral and non-infection diseases.

[Effect of propofol anesthesia on the serum level of lipid peroxidation products].
The propophol anesthesia induced the lipid peroxidation and inhibits the body antioxidation activity, which manifests itself by a reduced total antioxidation activity of the blood serum. However, the propophol effect, related with peroxidation activation, is not long and the mentioned parameters of lipid metabolism go down to the original values in 17-18 hour after the preparation was administered.

[Cerebral homeostasis disorder in patients with severe craniocerebral trauma during acute period].
Liquor distension, disorders of the cerebral hemodynamics as well as vegetative disorders and changes of immune reactivity in patients after a severe craniocerebral trauma are discussed. The examination of patients during the initial 10 days after trauma pointed at the relation of a cerebral trauma type with liquor distension, cerebral perfusion pressure, changes of the vegetative balance and with disorders of the auto-immune status. The most profound changes were observed in a severe craniocerebral trauma involving a severe cerebral contusion and compression.
