Fevipiprant, an oral antagonist of the prostaglandin D2 receptor 2, reduced sputum eosinophils and improved lung function in phase 2 trials of patients with asthma. We aimed to investigate whether fevipiprant reduces asthma exacerbations in patients with severe asthma. ⋯ Novartis.

Pathophysiology of COVID-19-associated acute respiratory distress syndrome: a multicentre prospective observational study.
Patients with COVID-19 can develop acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), which is associated with high mortality. The aim of this study was to examine the functional and morphological features of COVID-19-associated ARDS and to compare these with the characteristics of ARDS unrelated to COVID-19. ⋯ None.

People experiencing homelessness are vulnerable to COVID-19 due to the risk of transmission in shared accommodation and the high prevalence of comorbidities. In England, as in some other countries, preventive policies have been implemented to protect this population. We aimed to estimate the avoided deaths and health-care use among people experiencing homelessness during the so-called first wave of COVID-19 in England-ie, the peak of infections occurring between February and May, 2020-and the potential impact of COVID-19 on this population in the future. ⋯ National Institute for Health Research, Wellcome, and Medical Research Council.

Prevalence of phenotypes of acute respiratory distress syndrome in critically ill patients with COVID-19: a prospective observational study.
In acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) unrelated to COVID-19, two phenotypes, based on the severity of systemic inflammation (hyperinflammatory and hypoinflammatory), have been described. The hyperinflammatory phenotype is known to be associated with increased multiorgan failure and mortality.
