Comparative StudyLaparoscopic gastric bypass vs sleeve gastrectomy in obese Korean patients.
To compare the mid-term outcomes of laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) and laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (LRYGB) in obese Korean patients. ⋯ Both LSG and LRYGB are effective procedures that induce comparable weight loss in the mid-term and similar surgical risks, except for the higher revision rate after LSG.

Observational StudyCombined transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt and other interventions for hepatocellular carcinoma with portal hypertension.
To evaluate combination transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) and other interventions for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and portal hypertension. ⋯ TIPS combined with other interventional treatments seems to be safe and efficacious in patients with HCC and portal hypertension.

Review Meta AnalysisSelf-expandable metal stents for malignant gastric outlet obstruction: A pooled analysis of prospective literature.
To provide an overview of the clinical outcomes of self-expandable metal stent (SEMS) placement for malignant gastric outlet obstruction (MGOO). ⋯ The clinical outcomes in this large population showed that enteral stent placement was feasible, effective and safe. Therefore, stent placement is a valid treatment option for the palliation of MGOO.

To investigate the cooperative laparoscopic and endoscopic techniques used for the resection of upper gastrointestinal tumors. ⋯ Along with the traditional cooperative techniques, new procedures like LECS, LAEFR and NEWS hold great promise for the future of minimally invasive oncologic procedures.

Comparative StudyComparison of selected inflammation-based prognostic markers in relapsed or refractory metastatic colorectal cancer patients.
To investigate the impact of systemic inflammation-based prognostic markers on overall survival in relapsed/refractory metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) patients. ⋯ These results indicate that the inflammatory markers, mGPS and LMR are independent prognostic factors for predicting overall survival in relapsed/refractory mCRC patients.
