Correlation of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 expression with clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis in gastric cancer.
To investigate human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) gene amplification and protein expression in Chinese patients with resectable gastric cancer and the association with clinicopathological characteristics and survival. ⋯ Patients with intestinal type gastric cancer (GC), well-differentiated GC and poorly-differentiated GC without lymph node metastasis, may all represent suitable candidates for targeted therapy using Herceptin.

To evaluate the results of hepatic resection with ex-situ hypothermic perfusion and without veno-venous bypass. ⋯ Ex-situ liver resection and liver autotransplantation has shown a potential for treatment of complicated hepatic neoplasms that are unresectable by traditional procedures.

Meta AnalysisEffect of dietary fiber on constipation: a meta analysis.
To investigate the effect of dietary fiber intake on constipation by a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs). ⋯ Dietary fiber intake can obviously increase stool frequency in patients with constipation. It does not obviously improve stool consistency, treatment success, laxative use and painful defecation.

Meta AnalysisEffectiveness of 5-flurouracil-based neoadjuvant chemotherapy in locally-advanced gastric/gastroesophageal cancer: a meta-analysis.
To investigate the effectiveness of 5-flurouracil-based neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) for gastroesophageal and gastric cancer by meta-analysis. ⋯ Flurouracil-based NAC can safely improve overall survival rate of patients with gastroesophageal/gastric cancer. Additionally, NAC can down the tumor stage and improve R0 resection.

Meta AnalysisHighlights for α-fetoprotein in determining prognosis and treatment monitoring for hepatocellular carcinoma.
To explore the prognostic value in the monitoring of treatment efficacy of serial α-fetoprotein (AFP) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients. ⋯ HCC patients presenting with an AFP response are at decreased risk of mortality. In addition, patients with an AFP response also present with a higher overall response rate and disease control rate.
