Validity, reliability, and application of the electronic version of a chronic kidney disease patient awareness questionnaire: a pilot study.
A questionnaire which provides desirable reliability and validity has been previously developed to assess the disease awareness of diagnosed chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients. However, conventional paper questionnaires often have disadvantages, including recall bias. To substantially improve this, we therefore aimed to explore the feasibility of developing a smartphone-based electronic version (e-version) based upon its original paper version and subsequently tested its validity, reliability, and applicability. ⋯ The e-version is reliable but was not shown to be a valid approach. Audiences with higher education levels and less advanced disease condition may prefer to respond to the e-version. Adaptation of this e-questionnaire, from its original paper version, may not be a direct transition and meticulous modifications may be required during the transition process.

Case ReportsAtypical posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome with albuminocytological dissociation and late emerging neuroradiological findings: A case report.
Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is a central nervous system disorder accompanied by vasogenic edema in white matter that is usually located in temporo-parieto-occipital area. Typically, PRES is presented with headaches, seizures, and change of consciousness. The most common etiologic factor is fluctuations in blood pressure. ⋯ Radiological findings were typical for PRES. The cranial MRI is a valuable diagnostic tool for the diagnosis of the PRES but, as in our case, despite the subtle clinical and radiological findings presented during admission, repeated MRI and CSF examination may contribute to a definite diagnosis. This case is remarkable for severe protein elevation in CSF, irreversible fatal course and radiographic evidence of vasogenic edema occurred subsequently.

Lack of residual morning effects of lemborexant treatment for insomnia: summary of findings across 9 clinical trials.
Residual next-day effects of sleep-promoting drugs are common and an important safety issue. Lemborexant is a dual orexin receptor antagonist approved in the United States and Japan for treatment of insomnia in adults. We evaluated the potential of lemborexant for residual morning and next-day effects, including somnolence, based on lemborexant clinical study findings. ⋯ Across 9 clinical studies, lemborexant did not substantially impair next-day functioning among healthy subjects and subjects with insomnia.

Association between lateral epicondylitis and the risk of herpes zoster development.
Diseases burden is associated with herpes zoster (HZ) development. However, the relationship between lateral epicondylitis (LE) and HZ remains unknown. ⋯ Women with LE had a higher risk of HZ development. HZ vaccination may be needed for the female patients with LE.

Trephine bone marrow biopsy (BMB) in internal medicine has only been studied in fever of unknown origin and inflammation of unknown origin. The aim was to assess BMB diagnostic yield according to main indications and patient characteristics in internal medicine. Quality of BMB and contribution of bone marrow aspiration (BMA) to BMB were also analyzed. ⋯ Cytopenia(s), blood cythemias and monoclonal gammopathy are indications with the highest diagnostic yield. Concomitant BMA and IHC analysis should be systematically performed to increase BMB diagnostic yield in internal medicine.
