Comparative Study[Effects of lung protective ventilation on inhibiting inflammatory mediators released into plasma and bronchial alveolar lavage fluid in acute respiratory distress syndrome caused by pulmonary and extrapulmonary insults in dog].
To observe the changes in oxygenation index and inflammatory mediators in plasma and bronchial alveolar lavage fluid (BALF) of different lung areas (upper lobe, heart lobe, diaphragm lobe) in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) caused by pulmonary and extra-pulmonary insults with lung protective ventilation treatment in dog. ⋯ There are statistical differences in the amount of inflammatory mediators released in BALF from different lung areas and arterial oxygenation amelioration between ARDSp dogs and ARDSexp dogs, and better effects are seen in ARDSexp dogs than ARDSp dogs under lung protective ventilation treatment.

[Investigation on risk factors of prolonged mechanical ventilation after cardiopulmonary bypass].
To analyze the risk factors of prolonged mechanical ventilation (PMV) after cardiopulmonary, and to improve the management for the patients underwent respiratory complications. ⋯ This study shows preoperative cardiac function, CPB time, PaO(2)/FiO(2), the level of postoperative myocardial enzyme and the quantity of postoperative drainage are risk factors of PMV.

Comparative Study[Changes in human leukocyte antigen-DR expression on monocytes and its value of prediction on infection complication in trauma patients].
To observe the changes of human leukocyte antigen DR (HLA-DR) expression in monocytes of trauma patients and its value of prediction on infection complications. ⋯ In severe trauma patients, the HLA-DR expression in monocytes is significantly decreased, and decreased levels of HLA-DR expression in monocytes might be the early indicators of an immune deviation associated with the development of infection complications and prognosis.

Comparative Study[An early comprehensive prevention and treatment of sepsis in severely burned patients with delayed fluid resuscitation].
To study an early comprehensive prevention and treatment of sepsis in severely burned patients with delayed fluid resuscitation. ⋯ Our data demonstrated that measures adopted in the second period for patients with delayed fluid resuscitation, including early excision, early rapid adequate resuscitation, early enteral feeding, increased immunity function, early applying antibactials, xenotransfusion of ultraviolet-irradiated blood, application of recombinant human-growth factor (rh-GH), epidermal growth factor (EGF), basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), are beneficial to the prevention and treatment of sepsis in severely burned patients with delayed fluid resuscitation.

Comparative Study[Clinical significance of soluble selectins and matrix metalloproteinases-9 in patients after successful cardiopulmonary resuscitation].
To investigate whether patients after successful cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) exist elevated levels of soluble P-and E-selectin (sP-selectin, sE-selectin), matrix metalloproteinases-9 (MMP-9) and to evaluate the clinical significance of changes in these cytokine levels. ⋯ SIRS is a frequent but unspecific finding after CPR with only minor impact on outcome. Determination of sP-and sE-selectin, MMP-9 early after CPR might help to identify patients at a high risk for sepsis or an adverse, respectively.
