[Clinical observation of therapeutic effect of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome].
To investigate the therapeutic effects and safety of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). ⋯ ECMO could improve gas exchange, oxygenation and partially replace pulmonary function. Patients with ARDS should be treated with ECMO early if artificial ventilation treatment was unresponsive.

Meta Analysis[Use of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation in adults with acute respiratory distress syndrome: a meta-analysis].
To evaluate the effects of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) on mortality in adult patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). ⋯ There is no evidence to prove that ECMO is beneficial in adult patients with ARDS, therefore further investigation with a large sample of high quality RCT is warranted.

[The application of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation in critically ill patient].
To evaluate the supportive effects on cardiopulmonary failure in critically ill patients treated with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). ⋯ ECMO has a rapid effect to temporarily support heart or lung function (partially or totally) during cardiopulmonary failure, leading to organ recovery. Attempts to reduce the incidence of complications might improve the prognosis of critically ill patients.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Short-term intensive glucose control in patients with severe acute pancreatitis].
To investigate effects of intensive glucose control (IGC) on glucose variability (GV) and clinical outcomes in patients with severe acute pancreatitis (SAP), and to assess predictive values of different measures of GV on intensive care unit (ICU) death. ⋯ IGC had an effect to reduce GV, decrease ICU mortality, shorten length of ICU stay, and lower the incidence of infection. Compared with GLU(SD) and GLU(MAGE), GLU(GLI) was the best predictor of ICU death.
