Randomized Controlled Trial[Effects of recruitment maneuvers with low tidal volume ventilation in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome].
To assess the effects of recruitment maneuvers (RMs) with low tidal volume (V(T)) ventilation on gas oxygenation and reduction of ventilation-associated lung injury (VALI) in patients suffering from acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), to assess the effects of RMs on blood pressure, heart rate and occurrence of barotrauma. ⋯ RM could recruit the collapsed alveoli in ARDS. It could significantly improve oxygenation and decrease VALI. A superimposed RM is safe, and repeated RM could also decrease barotrauma.

[Study of small dural window exposure strategy for preventing intraoperative acute brain herniation during removal of huge intracranial meningiomas].
To investigate and assess the value of small dural window exposure strategy on preventing brain herniation during the operation for huge intracranial meningiomas. ⋯ The small dural window exposure strategy can guarantee safe total removal of huge intracranial meningiomas avoiding the risk of acute intraoperative brain swelling and herniation. Peritumorous brain tissue can be kept intact. Preoperative spinal drainage of cerebrospinal fluid for lowering intracranial pressure is unnecessary in the majority of such cases. Some new knowledge for our understanding the etiological mechanisms and the mechanisms of the surgical strategy to avoid acute intraoperative brain swelling and herniation in removal of huge intracranial meningiomas can be learned.

[Experimental study of the safety of sustained inflation strategy in acute respiratory distress syndrome in sheep].
To evaluate the effects of lung recruitment maneuver (RM) on hemodynamics and lung structure with sustained inflation (SI) in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) in sheep, to look for a safe range of pressure and time of SI. ⋯ The impairment of the hemodynamics and damage to the lung structure should be prevented when RM is performed in ARDS patients, and the inflation pressure should be limited within the range of UIP or 5 cm H(2)O under UIP to avoid adverse effect on hemodynamics.

[Dynamic changes in airway hyperresponsiveness as a result of allergen and therapeutic effects of budesonide in rats].
To investigate the dynamic changes in airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR) in allergen-induced asthma in rats and the effects of budesonide. ⋯ (1) Airway hyperresponsiveness increases greatly in mice challenged and sensitized with OVA, and it lasts for about 7 days and then declines afterwards. (2) Budesonide aerosol could effectively alleviate the eosinophil dominant inflammatory response and decrease AHR in the murine asthma model.

[Effects of lung protective ventilation in prone or supine position on inhibiting adrenomedullin release in acute respiratory distress syndrome caused by pulmonary and extra-pulmonary insults in dog].
To investigate the changes in adrenomedullin release in bronchial alveolar lavage fluid (BALF) from different lung areas in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) of produced dogs, by pulmonary and extra-pulmonary causes, with low tidal volume and positive end expiratory pressure (PEEP) treatment under supine and prone position. ⋯ There are statistical differences in adrenomedullin release in different lung areas between ARDSp dogs and ARDSexp dogs, and in both ARDSexp dogs and ARDSp dogs low tidal volume and PEEP treatment under prone position ventilation give better results compared to supine position.
