[Extrahepatic collateral arteries are involved in the blood supply to hepatocellular carcinoma: angiographic demonstration and transcatheter arterial chemoembolization].
To evaluate the incidence of extrahepatic collateral arteries involved in the blood supply to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and to assess the technical success rates and complications of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) through the collaterals. ⋯ TACE through extrahepatic collaterals is safe and feasible, and with a high success rate in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma.

[Impact of clinicopathological features and extent of lymph node dissection on the prognosis in early gastric cancer patients].
To explore the impact of clinicopathological features and extent of lymph node dissection on the prognosis in early gastric cancer (EGC) patients. ⋯ It is not able to accurately assess the LN metastasis status preoperatively according to the routine clinicopathological features. For the patients with unknown LN metastasis status, D2 dissection should be the first choice. Comparing with D1 dissection, the morbidity of D2 dissection are not increased, but survival time is prolonged.

[Treatment of thoracolumbar tumors with total en bloc spondylectomy and the results of spinal stability reconstruction].
To investigate the therapeutic effect of total en bloc spondylectomy (TES) for thoracolumbar tumors and the results of spinal stability reconstruction. ⋯ TES significantly increases the therapeutic effect of spinal tumors, although accompanied with high difficulty and massive bleeding. In spinal stability reconstruction after total spondylectomy, it should be emphasized that posterior long segment fixation with pedicle screw-rod system, massive bone bridging graft and the application of thoracolumbosacral orthosis can achieve short-term firm fixation and long-term fusion-stabilization.

[Clinicopathological features and prognostic factors of breast cancer patients with inguinal lymph node metastases: a report of 17 cases].
To analyze the clinicopathological features and prognostic factors of breast cancer patients with inguinal lymph node metastases. ⋯ The prognostic factors of breast cancer patients with inguinal lymph node metastases include the number of metastatic axillary lymph nodes, ER and(or) PR status, the cycles of adjuvant chemotherapy, type of primary recurrence, the period from diagnosis of breast cancer to the occurrence of inguinal lymph node metastasis and pleural effusion. Regular and complete physical examination after surgery as well as prompt intensive treatment for high-risk patients may have positive significance in the treatment of such type of patients. However, a type of more reasonable and individualized treatment is warranted in future studies.

[Age-specific detection rates of colorectal neoplasms by colonoscopic screening in high-incidence rural area].
To compare the age-specific detection rates of colorectal neoplasms by colonoscopic screening among high-risk population in rural area and to provide evidence for determining the initial age in the colorectal cancer screening. ⋯ Among the high-risk population aged 40 to 74, the detection rates of colorectal cancer and adenoma are increasing with the increase of age, the detection rates of colorectal cancer and adenoma as well as proportion of detected cases in the 40 - 44 age group are considerably lower. To increase the initial age to 45 for colorectal cancer screening in rural area of China is reasonable.
