Tracheobronchomalacia: comparison between end-expiratory and dynamic expiratory CT for evaluation of central airway collapse.
To compare dynamic expiratory and end-expiratory computed tomography (CT) for depicting central airway collapse in patients with acquired tracheobronchomalacia (TBM). ⋯ Dynamic expiratory CT elicits a significantly greater degree of airway collapse than standard end-expiratory CT in patients with TBM.

To evaluate depiction of urinary tract calculi at computed tomography (CT) with a z-axis modulation technique at various noise indexes to reduce radiation dose and preserve image quality. ⋯ Kidney stones (< or =2.5 mm) can be adequately depicted with the z-axis modulation technique, with a 56%-77% reduction in radiation dose. In patients with urinary tract stones, the technique results in a 43%-66% reduction in radiation dose at noise indexes of 14 and 20 without compromising stone depiction.

To retrospectively investigate regional in vivo magnetic resonance (MR) imaging transverse and longitudinal relaxation rates at 3.0 T in neonatal brain, the relationship between these rates, and their potential use for gray matter (GM) versus white matter (WM) tissue discrimination. ⋯ Results at 3.0 T indicate that R1 decreases with increasing field strength, while R2 values are similar to those reported at lower field strengths. For neonates, R2 image contrast may be more advantageous than R1 image contrast for differentiation between GM and WM.
