Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative Study Clinical Trial
Contrast-enhanced MR Angiography of the renal arteries: blinded multicenter crossover comparison of gadobenate dimeglumine and gadopentetate dimeglumine.
To prospectively and intraindividually compare 0.1 mmol/kg gadobenate dimeglumine with 0.2 mmol/kg gadopentetate dimeglumine for contrast material-enhanced magnetic resonance (MR) angiography of the renal arteries. ⋯ Gadobenate dimeglumine at a dose of 0.1 mmol/kg is comparable to gadopentetate dimeglumine at 0.2 mmol/kg for contrast-enhanced renal MR angiography.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: thin-section CT measurement of airway wall thickness and lung attenuation.
To prospectively evaluate airway wall thickness and lung attenuation at spirometrically gated thin-section computed tomography (CT) in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and to correlate gated CT findings with pulmonary function test (PFT) results. ⋯ Bronchial wall measurements differ between patients who have COPD with CB and those who have COPD without CB. The correlation between airway dimensions and indexes of airway obstruction in patients with COPD and CB indicates that the bronchial tree is the site of anatomic-functional alterations in this patient group.

Small (=2-cm) subpleural pulmonary lesions: short- versus long-needle-path CT-guided Biopsy--comparison of diagnostic yields and complications.
To retrospectively compare the diagnostic yield and complications associated with the use of short versus long needle paths for computed tomography (CT)-guided biopsy of small subpleural lung lesions. ⋯ Use of long-needle-path biopsy of subpleural lesions resulted in a higher diagnostic yield, especially for small nodules. However, compared with the short-needle-path technique, this approach was associated with a higher frequency of chest tube placement for pneumothorax.

To determine if there is a role for magnetic resonance (MR) imaging in evaluation of pregnant women with acute right-lower-quadrant pain in whom acute appendicitis is suspected. ⋯ MR imaging shows promise for evaluation of pregnant women in whom acute appendicitis is suspected by enabling diagnosis of other possible causes of right-lower-quadrant pain, including ovarian torsion or pelvic abscesses, and demonstrating a healthy or unhealthy appendix.

Breast core-needle biopsy: clinical trial of relaxation technique versus medication versus no intervention for anxiety reduction.
To evaluate effectiveness of oral anxiolytic medication versus relaxation technique for anxiety reduction in women undergoing breast core-needle biopsy (CNB). ⋯ Use of oral anxiolytic medication before breast CNB can significantly reduce anxiety women experience during the procedure.
