To determine whether a peripheral high-attenuating crescent in an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) on unenhanced computed tomographic (CT) scans is a sign of impending or active aneurysm rupture. ⋯ In patients without CT evidence of frank aneurysm leak, the high-attenuating crescent sign should be regarded as a sign of impending AAA rupture, particularly in patients with pain.
-
To study neuroradiologic findings in patients with hypercoagulability due to antiphospholipid antibodies (APAs). ⋯ Presence of APAs should be suspected when no cause is apparent for either (a) an ischemic cerebrovascular event in young and middle-aged adults or (b) dural sinus or cerebral venous thrombosis (c) in patients with recurrent systemic arterial or venous thromboses, especially women with recurrent miscarriages.

To assess duplex Doppler ultrasound (US) in providing objective, reproducible measurements of blood flow in patients with reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD) who underwent surgical sympathectomy. ⋯ Duplex Doppler US may be useful for objective follow-up of RSD patients after sympathectomy.

To assess the diagnostic usefulness of ultrasonography (US) in intussusception in children and determine whether color Doppler sonography (CDS) can indicate bowel viability and help in prediction of reducibility. ⋯ US is sensitive and specific in the diagnosis of intussusception, and CDS is a promising predictor of bowel viability.
