To evaluate performance of increased bowel-wall attenuation on unenhanced 64-section multidetector computed tomographic (CT) images for diagnosing bowel-wall ischemia in patients with mechanical small-bowel obstruction (SBO) and to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of multidetector CT in detecting small-bowel ischemia complicating SBO, with surgical and histopathologic findings as reference standard. ⋯ Increased bowel-wall attenuation on unenhanced 64-section multidetector CT images is a specific sign for ischemia complicating SBO. Diagnostic accuracy of 64-section multidetector CT for ischemia associated with SBO was excellent.

To perform a multilevel radiogenomics study to elucidate the glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) magnetic resonance (MR) imaging radiogenomic signatures resulting from changes in messenger RNA (mRNA) expression and DNA copy number variation (CNV). ⋯ Construction of an MR imaging, mRNA, and CNV radiogenomic association map has led to identification of MR traits that are associated with some known high-grade glioma biomarkers and association with genomic biomarkers that have been identified for other malignancies but not GBM. Thus, the traits and genes identified on this map highlight new candidate radiogenomic biomarkers for further evaluation in future studies.

To evaluate the prognostic importance and predictive performance of volume-based parameters of fluorine 18 fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) in patients with stage I non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT). ⋯ SUVmax, MTV, and TLG at FDG PET/CT have a prognostic role for patients with NSCLC treated with SBRT. When tumors are larger than 3 cm, only MTV and TLG are predictive of DFS.

To assess the diversity of the U.S. diagnostic radiology physician workforce by race, Hispanic ethnicity, and sex in the context of the available pipeline of medical students. ⋯ Females and URM remain underrepresented in the diagnostic radiology physician workforce despite an available medical student pipeline. Given prevalent health care disparities and an increasingly diverse society, future research and training efforts should address increasing resident diversity with program directors and department chairs.

To explore the value of diffusion-tensor (DT) imaging in addressing the severity of cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) and predicting the outcome of surgical treatment. ⋯ FA is a biomarker for the severity of myelopathy and for subsequent surgical outcome.
