Comparative Study Controlled Clinical Trial
Effect of abrupt substitution of gadobenate dimeglumine for gadopentetate dimeglumine on rate of allergic-like reactions.
To evaluate the effect of abruptly substituting gadobenate dimeglumine for gadopentetate dimeglumine on allergic-like reactions. ⋯ After gadobenate dimeglumine was substituted for gadopentetate dimeglumine, a significant transient increase occurred in the frequency of reported allergic-like reactions that demonstrated a temporal pattern suggestive of the Weber effect (a transient increase in adverse event reporting that tends to peak in the 2nd year after a new agent or indication is introduced). © RSNA, 2012.

To demonstrate a limitation of lifetime radiation-induced cancer risk metrics in the setting of testicular cancer surveillance-in particular, their failure to capture the delayed timing of radiation-induced cancers over the course of a patient's lifetime. ⋯ Lifetime radiation risk estimates, when used for decision making, may overemphasize radiation-induced cancer risks relative to short-term health risks.

Multicenter Study Controlled Clinical Trial
A controlled trial of revascularization in acute stroke.
To compare safety and utility of intraarterial revascularization with use of stents to no revascularization in patients who either failed to respond to intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) or have contraindications to IVT. ⋯ In this controlled trial, intraarterial revascularization with stents was an effective and safe-effective treatment option in patients with acute MCA occlusion with contraindication to IVT or after IVT failure.

New vertebral fractures after percutaneous vertebroplasty for painful osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures: a clustered analysis and the relevance of intradiskal cement leakage.
To perform clustered analysis of fracture-free probabilities of intact nontreated vertebrae after percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) in painful long-standing osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCFs) to determine risk factors for new vertebral fractures and estimate fracture-free probabilities of multiple intact nontreated vertebrae given their patient- and vertebra-specific covariate status. ⋯ New vertebral fractures after PVP were clustered within patients and depended heavily on the presence or absence of both patient- and vertebra-specific risk factors. Intradiskal cement leakage was a pronounced augmentation-related risk factor, for which a volumetric association was found.

Percutaneous punctures with MR imaging guidance: comparison between MR imaging-enhanced fluoroscopic guidance and real-time MR Imaging guidance.
To evaluate and compare the technical accuracy and feasibility of magnetic resonance (MR) imaging-enhanced fluoroscopic guidance and real-time MR imaging guidance for percutaneous puncture procedures in phantoms and animals. ⋯ Both MR imaging-enhanced fluoroscopic guidance and real-time MR imaging guidance demonstrated reasonable and similar accuracy in guiding needle placement to selected targets in phantoms and animals.
