Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study[Comparison of the effects of sugammadex and neostigmine on postoperative nausea and vomiting].
The aim of our study is to compare the effects of sugammadex and neostigmine, used for neuromuscular blockage antagonism, on postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV). ⋯ At the end of our study comparing neostigmine with sugammadex for neuromuscular blockage antagonism, we found use of sugammadex had lower incidence of PONV in the postoperative 1st hour and less anti-emetic use in 24hours of monitoring.

Case Reports[Successful use of sugammadex for caesarean section in a patient with myasthenia gravis].
Myasthenia gravis is an autoimmune disorder that is characterized by muscle weakness that fluctuates, worsening with exertion, and improving with rest. Diagnosis of myasthenia gravis is made following clinical and physical examination and is confirmed by serum immunoassays to measure autoantibody levels. Myasthenia gravis especially when associated with pregnancy is a high-risk disease, and its course is unpredictable. We described the second report about use of sugammadex after rocuronium for a caesarean delivery with myasthenia gravis, but, unlike our case that formerly was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, the patient was extubated on postoperative successfully and we did not encounter any respiratory problems.

Observational Study[Correlation between weekly working time and burnout syndrome among anesthesiologists of Maceió-AL].
The current reports are insufficient to determine the causative agent, as well as to identify high risk profiles for BS, leaving a clear need for more studies to this end. This study aimed to evaluate the correlation between weekly workload and BS dimensions. ⋯ This study showed no correlation between the weekly working time and the BS dimensions in this population.

Case Reports[Anesthetic management of an infant with giant abdominal neuroblastoma].
Neuroblastoma is the most common, non-central nervous system tumor of childhood. It has the potential to synthesize catecholamines. ⋯ We report the perioperative management of a 15-month-old infant with giant abdominal neuroblastoma who presented severe hypertension. The pathophysiological alterations of neuroblastoma are reviewed and perioperative management presented.

[Regulation of hypnosis in Propofol anesthesia administration based on non-linear control strategy].
Continuous adjustment of Propofol in manual delivery of anesthesia for conducting a surgical procedure overburdens the workload of an anesthetist who is working in a multi-tasking scenario. Going beyond manual administration and Target Controlled Infusion, closed-loop control of Propofol infusion has the potential to offer several benefits in terms of handling perturbations and reducing the effect of inter-patient variability. This paper proposes a closed-loop automated drug administration approach to control Depth Of Hypnosis in anesthesia. ⋯ The performance of the controller is investigated and characterized with real dataset of 8 patients undergoing surgery. Results of this in silico study indicate that for all the patients, with 0% overshoot observed, the steady state error lies in between ±5. Clinically, this implies that in all the cases, without any overdose, the controller maintains the desired DOH level for smooth conduction of surgical procedures.
