[Effects of Yiqi Huayu Decoction on brain-derived neurotrophic factor expression in rats with lumbar nerve root injury].
To observe the effects of Yiqi Huayu Decoction, a compound traditional Chinese herbal medicine, on brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) expression in lumbar nerve root and soleus of rats after lumbar nerve root compression injury. ⋯ Yiqi Huayu Decoction can inhibit the increase of BDNF expression at the early phase after nerve injury, which may have something to do with alleviation of neuropathic pain, and increase BDNF expression at the late phase to promote nerve regeneration.

Review Meta Analysis[Arsenic trioxide in combination with all-trans retinoic acid for acute promyelocytic leukemia: a systematic review and meta-analysis].
The studies have demonstrated that arsenic trioxide (ATO) in combination with all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) takes effects in treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) through different underlying mechanisms. This has established the molecular foundation of ATO plus ATRA therapy. Currently, ATO plus ATRA has also been widely used in clinical practice. ⋯ For newly diagnosed APL, ATO plus ATRA is superior to ATO monotherapy, ATRA monotherapy and chemotherapy with ATO plus ATRA, but due to the lack of data about comparison with the current standard treatment regimen (ATRA plus chemotherapy), it is not enough to recommend ATO plus ATRA as a frontline therapy. For relapsed APL, ATO plus ATRA is not superior to ATO monotherapy, and ATRA plus ATO is not a supportive therapy. Due to limitation of sample size and risk of bias from the included trials, the effects of ATO plus ATRA need to be confirmed by large and high-quality randomized controlled trials.

Review Meta Analysis[Efficacy of Maxing Shigan Decoction combined with Western medicine for pneumonia in children: a systematic review and meta-analysis].
To systematically evaluate the clinical effects of Maxing Shigan Decoction (MXSGD), a compound traditional Chinese herbal medicine, combined with Western medicine on pneumonia in children. ⋯ MXSGD combined with Western medicine can improve clinical symptoms and increase the total effective rate of the patients with pneumonia in children. However, its clinical effects should be further identified by high quality, multicenter and randomized controlled trials with large-scale design.

Randomized Controlled Trial[A randomized double-blinded controlled trial of Xuefu Zhuyu Capsule on short-term quality of life in unstable anginal patients with blood-stasis syndrome after percutaneous coronary intervention].
With the wide application of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD), it is a popularly concerned problem within clinical doctors to promote the patients' early recovery and improve their health related quality of life (HR-QoL). ⋯ Compared with SM Capsule, a short-term treatment of XFZY Capsule exhibits better efficacy in improving HR-QoL in UA patients with blood-stasis syndrome after PCI. However, its long-term efficacy and safety needs further investigation.
