Radiofrequency ablation is a minimally invasive cancer treatment used as an alternative for unresectable hepatic malignancies. Tumor ablation implies direct application of thermal or chemical therapies on a specific focal tumor. The aim of radiofrequency ablation is a total eradication of the tumor or at least a substantial tumor destruction. The thermal energy can be heat (radiofrequency, laser, microwave,...) or cold (cryoablation).

The trigeminal nerve is the largest cranial nerve with both a sensory and motor function. MRI is an excellent technique to evaluate the trigeminal nerve. We report the MRI findings and illustrate the normal and diseased trigeminal nerve at Meckel's cave, the cavernous sinus, the skull base foramina, the pterygopalatine fossa and the peripheral branches.

Ectopic cervical thymus is an uncommon entity to be considered in the differential diagnosis of neck masses in infants and children. The sonographic appearance of a hyporeflective mass with characteristic internal linear hyperreflections situated along the path of the thymopharyngeal duct should suggest diagnosis. On MRI, signal intensities differ significantly from other more common neck mass lesions in children such as a branchiogenic cyst, hemangioma and lymphangioma. Diagnosis can be confirmed by performing a sonographically guided thru-cut biopsy.
