Joubert syndrome is a rare disease characterised by clinical and radiological findings. Among the classic clinical findings of JS are hypotonia, ataxia, mental-motor retardation, respiratory and opthalmological findings. The paediatric cases included in the study comprised nine patients. ⋯ Three cases had corpus callosum anomaly and atretic occipital encephalocoele. No pathology was determined in other organs. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical and radiological findings of 9 patients diagnosed with Joubert syndrome.

This review addresses a futuristic frontier of diabetes pharmaco-therapeutics. It describes the current status, and future prospects, of development of smart insulins, i.e., insulins which self-regulate their release, in response to ambient glycaemic levels. This approach helps to minimize the risk of hypoglycaemia, and ensures physiological control. The article discusses the various technical strategies used to create such smart insulin.

Glucocorticoids can cause allergic reaction in rare cases. A ten year old boy, known asthmatic, was treated with intramuscular injection of glucocorticoids, followed by nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. His lips turned pale along with palpitation and light headache. ⋯ Patient spontaneously improved and symptoms resolved. IV fluids bolus, antihistamines or epinephrine were not required. The case was seen in September 2012.
