Often, newspapers use the term 'schizophrenia' as a metaphor with negative connotations. The use of the term in Greek newspapers, has never been investigated. The aim of this study is to examine how the term 'schizophrenia' is used in Greek newspaper websites. ⋯ The metaphoric use of 'schizophrenia' indicated predominately incoherence/contradiction/split (n=43, 90%). Monitoring how schizophrenia is presented within popular media is crucial, since it could influence public perceptions regarding the disorder. Continual use of schizophrenia as a metaphor could contribute to maintaining the stigma attached to mental illness.

Design and Validation of 3D Printed Complex Bone Models with Internal Anatomic Fidelity for Surgical Training and Rehearsal.
Physical models of complex bony structures can be used for surgical skills training. Current models focus on surface rendering but suffer from a lack of internal accuracy due to limitations in the manufacturing process. ⋯ In a face validation experiment, otolaryngology residents drilled a cadaveric bone and its corresponding printed model. The printed bone models were deemed highly realistic representations across all measured parameters and the educational value of the models was strongly appreciated.

Advances in information and communications technologies (ICT) enable new personalized health care concepts which are often characterized by four "P" terms, i.e. personalized, predictive, preventive and participatory. However, real world implementations of the complete 4P spectrum hardly exist today. ⋯ Smart devices and enabling elements like Near Field Communication (NFC) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology already exist and increasingly will be a mainstream element of our lives. This future vision paper attempts to assess if and how the Internet of Things for personalized health (IoT4pH) can help to facilitate the 4P healthcare paradigm and discusses related challenges and opportunities.

Pediatric emergency department crowding: survival tree clustering for length of patient stay.
The objective of this study is to analyse the length of patient stay in Pediatric emergency department according to diagnosis and the number of patients over a 3 year-period. A survival tree was used, to explore the underlying construct of overcrowding depending of the length of patient stay. ⋯ The hazard ratio test was used to determine optimal partition. The approach is illustrated using Electronic Medical Record Software database available at the Pediatric Emergency Department of Lille University Hospital.

Development and evaluation of a memory clinic information system.
To describe the requirements, development and evaluation of a cognitive disorders and older persons' clinical and research application, outlining the conceptual and practical challenges. ⋯ The development of a system needs to take in account existing data collection methods and other information systems used. The GreyMatters system can be considered a supplementary or complementary health record that sits alongside the main Trust information system. Integrating data from multiple systems enhances utility to clinical and research users.
